STATIONERY AND THEIR USES

STATIONERY

All offices require stationery for routine


clerical activites. Stationery consists
specifically of materials that are
associated with writing, printing, copying
and note taking - envelopes,forms,
labels, message pads, files, folders,
pens, pencils and erasers.
TYPES AND QUALITIES OF PAPER
Bond paper is ahigh-quality paper usually with
a gloss or watermark to indicate the right side .
It is generally used for letterheads and memo
forms and to print the original of almost any
document or correspondence.

Parchment paper is a heavy quality paper


resembling materials that is made from the skin
of sheep or goat, which is used For preparing
handwritten works For presentation and printing
certificates .
PAPER ORIENTATION

If the short side of the paper is at the top , the


paper is described has been in portrait
orientation . If the long side of the paper is
at that top , then the paper is in the
landscape orientation.
TYPES AND QUALITIES OF PAPER
NCR (No carbon required ) Paper is
thinner than bond paper but thicker
than bank and is not of a high quality .
It is always in sets of twos. The back
of the first sheet and the front off this
second sheet are chemically treated
in order to facilitate copying without
having to make use of carbon paper .
It is used for forms , bills and
receipts .

Standards (ISO) A
Series, eg A4.
