• RCM recommends 4 N applications when hybrid variety is used and target yield is 7.5 t/ha or higher:
- basal or at early stage,
- active tillering,
- panicle initiation, and
- heading

High soil fertility – the farm lot is at a location identified to be high fertility.
Standard fertility – all other farm lots that do not fit into very high and high soil
fertility

Recommended management practice for transplanted
rice:
“Apply zinc to seedbed. Broadcast 1 kg zinc sulfate per 40
kg of seed within 10 days after sowing.”
• Fertilizer can be applied when the soil is moist or covered with standing water, but not when water is overflowing
the boundaries of the farm lot.
• Do not apply fertilizer when the farm lot is overflowing with water or under drought conditions in order to avoid
nutrient loss or fertilizer wastage.
