Classroom rules:
1. Please wear a mask before entering the classroom.
2. Body temperature check is required at Triage area. If your temperature
reaches 37.5C, you are not allowed to get inside.
3. Please clean your hands with alcohol/sanitizer.
4. Practice social distancing at least 2 meters away.
5. Disinfect and clean frequently touched objects.
6. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, mouth and face.
7. Never share personal items with our classmates.
8. Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze.
Objectives
1. explain the impacts of various hazards on
different exposed elements;
2. classify hazard impacts and perform hazard
identification and risk assessment; and
3. recognize the value of being disaster-resilient
Recap:
Moreover, assessment of risks accompanying hazards
must also be done to ensure safety or at least minimize the
impact of hazards, if not totally eradicated.
A sound safety management program must be established
to avoid injuries and unpleasant events brought about by
hazards and accompanying risks.
HAZARD
= a condition or a set of circumstances that
present a potential for harm.
Hazards = divided into two broad
categories:
A.Health hazard
B.Safety hazard
6 types of hazard classification:
1. biological,
2. chemical,
3. physical,
4. safety,
5. ergonomic
6. psychosocial
RISK
refers to the potential for loss,
damage or destruction a hazard
can cause.
VULNERABILIT
refers

to the characteristics of a
community or system that make it
susceptible to the possible damaging
effects of a hazard.
