The definition of legislative branche

The legislative branch is the law-making body


within a government. In the Philippines, this
branch is called the Congress, composed of the
Senate and the House of Representatives. It's
responsible for enacting laws, declaring war, and
overseeing the budget.
What are the roles and responsibilities of

The Philippines has a bicameral legislature, which means
that it is composed of two chambers – the Philippine Senate
(the Upper House) and the House of Representatives (the
Lower House). The study of the functions and duties of the
Philippine Congress is crucial in developing a holistic view
of the dynamics of the Philippine government. The
accorded functions to the Senate and the House of
Representatives, however, differ in certain aspects. As each
of these two chambers have a definite scope of
responsibilities and a framework within which they have to
operate as expressed in the Philippine Constitution.

States

bicameral legislative branch, called congress in the united state
and congress in the Philippine
• Law power making: both legislative have the power to create,
debate, and pas laws
• Oversight function: both legislativehave the power to conduct
investigation and oversight of the executive branch
Budgetary power : both can approve or reject the budget propose
by the executive branch
The difference
House of Representatives:
In the united state, the House of Representatives has 435 members,
with representation based on state population, serving two-year
terms. In the Philippines, the House of Representatives has a mix of
district representatives and party-list representatives, serving three-
year terms.

Senate:
In the united state, the Senate has 100 members, with two member
from each state, serving six-year terms. In the Philippines, the Senate
has 24 members, elected at-large, serving six-year terms.

Party system: The united state have doninat two- party system, while
the philippines has a multi-party system

Legislative Process: While both countries have similar legislative


processes, the US Congress has more complex rules and procedures.
