TITLE:
ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE OF 4PS
AND NON 4PS BENEFICIARIES OF
GRADE 12GAS B
INTRODUCTION:
Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps). A conditional cash
transfer program of the Philippine government to reduce poverty and
provide for the needs of marginalized Filipino families. It aims, among
other things, to build human capital through education and health
assistance for families in the program. Considering that Don
Servillano Platon Memorial National High School with its Grade 12
GAS B students, present an ideal setting to investigate the correlation
of 4Ps and Non 4Ps beneficiaries on academic performance. The
purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between 4ps and
Non 4Ps sproviding insight on the program effectiveness in improving
educational outcomes.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
1.What is the academic performance of the 4ps beneficiaries?
2.What is the academic performance of non 4ps beneficiaries?
3. Is there a significant different between the 4ps beneficiaries and non
4ps beneficiaries?
HYPOTHESIS
Null hypothesis:
There is no significant difference between the academic performance of the
4ps and non 4ps beneficiary
Alternative hypothesis:
There is a significant difference between the academic performance of the
4ps and non 4ps beneficiary
SCOPE AND DELIMITATION
This study focuses on the academic performance of 4Ps
and non 4Ps beneficiaries, the primary subject of this
research will consist the study of Grade 12 ( GAS B )
students in Don Servillano Platon Memorial National High
School. This study is limited only to the students of
DSPMNHS as primary respondents of the study.
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY:
This research aims to provide valuable insights into
understanding of how social welfare programs like 4Ps
effects the academic performance of senior high school
students. By focusing on Grade 12 GAS B students, this
study examines the academic performance of 4Ps and Non
4Ps beneficiaries students, highlighting its role in preparing
students for future success, enhancing students achievement
and academic success and supporting students educational
journey.
DEFINITION OF TERMS:
To facilitate the understanding of the terms used, the following are defined:
● Academic Performance. It is the outcome of education- the extent to which a student,
teacher or institution has achieved their educational goals. It is measured by the final
grade earned in the course.
● Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program. Refer to the national poverty reduction
strategy that provides conditional cash transfer to extremely poor households to improve
their health, nutritionand education particularly of children aged 0-18.
● Social Reconstructionism. An educational theory that advocates change, improvement
and there forming of the school and society. Believes that students are the critical
element in bringing about social change. According to Paulo Freire, a person must learn
to overcome oppression and to not be a victim. Rather than “teaching as banking” Freire
thought that teaching and learning was the way for a child to invent and reinvent the
world.

CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK:
The conceptual framework that was used in the study is the Input-
Process-Output Model as shown in figure 1. The (IPO) framework was
used to show the process done by gathering the data of the 4Ps and Non
4Ps beneficiaries . In the IPO model, a process is viewed as a series of
boxes (processing elements) connected by inputs and outputs.
Information or material object flow through a series of gathering. The IPO
model provided the general structure and guide for the direction of the
study. Substituting the variables of this study on the IPO model, the
researchers came up with the following model.

THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK:
The Theory of Global Education Policy by Hanbook’s (2016). It’s highlights
the limitations of human capital theory in poverty reduction. While the theory
posses a strong link between educational investment and poverty alleviation,
global disparities in education levels and persistent high poverty rates
demonstrate its shortcomings. In this theory emphasis that with the huge
differences between the average levels of education there’s a high chance of
poverty rates. Investing in education doesn’t mean reduction of reduction of
poverty rates.
The Role of Motivation and strategies Theory by Gbollie and Keamu’s
(2027). Although performance is said to be primarily based on individual factors
such as personality, skills, knowledge, experience, and motivation are also linked
to academic success.
RESEARCH DESIGN:
This study used the Comparative Descriptive
Method of research. Descriptive in way that it
describes the academic performance of the 4Ps
and Non 4Ps student-recipients and comparative
because it will determine the result of the 4Ps and
Non 4Ps beneficiaries to the academic
performance.
RESEARCH DESIGN:
This study used the descriptive-correlational
method of research. Descriptive in way that it
describes the academic performance of the
4Ps and Non 4Ps student-recipients and
correlational because it will determine the
correlation of the 4Ps and Non 4Ps
beneficiaries to the academic performance.
LOCALE AND POPULATION OF THE STUDY
The study is conducted at Don Servillano Platon
Memorial National High School in Sta. Cruz
Tinambac Camarines Sur. Because it has the most
member of students-beneficiaries than the other
Grade 12 sections.

school attendance, and learning environment influence academic
achievement among 4ps and Non 4Ps beneficiaries. Specially it assesses
weather the financial assistance provided by the 4Ps program improves
academic outcomes for students from low income households. This will be
determined by analyzing several variables including overall academic
achievement, participation in school activities, and school attendance.
Additionally, the study explores the role of parental involvement in academic
success.
STATISTICAL TREATMENT USED
The researchers gathered the data, they
were compiled, sorted, organized and
tabulated. The statistical tools employed were
frequency distribution, and percentage .

SUMMARY OF FINDINGS
This study investigated the Academic
performance between the general average of 4Ps
and non 4Ps (Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program)
beneficiary status among Grade 12 GAS B students
across various academic strands. Both 4Ps and
non-4Ps students prioritized good academic
performance, measured by their general average.
CONCLUSION
The 4Ps (Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program) positively
influences the academic performance of Grade 12 GAS B students,
leading to higher academic achievements. But it doesn’t mean that being
not a benefiaciary is also not defined as low academic performance; the
main problem always imvolves a lack of financial of financial with lower
academic performance. The significant correlation between 4Ps and non-
4Ps beneficiaries highlights that the importance of academic success
doesn’t revolve around finances; it’s on how you perform and aims to get
good grades.
RECOMMENDATIONS
To the future researchers, find what are the
factors when it comes to academic performance
why there's no significant difference when it comes
to the academic performance in 4Ps and Non 4Ps
beneficiaries. Students should also take the account
into the significant influence attendance has on their
academic achievement
