Buckhead Heritage Seeks Community Assistance in Combating Graffiti Graffiti is a growing problem in Buckhead. Numerous signs in the area have been tagged in the last several months. Recently, several speed limit signs along East Wesley Road were defaced with graffiti and electrical poles and boxes along Northside Drive have been marred. The I-75 retaining wall between West Paces Ferry and Mt. Paran Road has been sprayed with large graffiti lettering as well. W. Wright Mitchell, Buckhead Heritage President, stated Graffiti constitutes criminal damage to property and it detracts from the beauty of our historic community. We are seeking the assistance of Buckhead residents to help solve this problem by reporting graffiti to the City of Atlanta Public Works Department. If residents observe graffiti, they can report it to the Department of Public Works by emailing publicworks@atlantaga.gov or calling the customer service line at (404) 330-6333. Residents should provide an address or the nearest intersection where the graffiti may be found. The customer service representative taking the information should provide the resident with a Service Request Number, which may be used to follow-up on the report if the graffiti is not removed in 2-3 weeks. If reporting by email, residents should also copy the Atlanta City Council Members who represent Buckhead, Howard Shook hshook@atlantaga.gov and Yolanda Adrean yadrean@atlantaga.gov. Buckhead Heritage appreciates the assistance of Buckhead residents in helping maintain the quality of life in Buckhead by reporting any graffiti they observe. ###
