Chakras
They have been depicted as a funnel of sorts with smaller funnels within the funnel. I have viewed the
intake of the Chakra as that of a fan or windmill in circular motion.
In the next seven sections we will be focusing on each individual Chakra. We will talk about the colors
associated with each Chakra, learn the physical location of them, explore what purposes they serve,
discover which physical dysfunction's are associated with each Chakra, learn what types of information is
stored in each of the chakras, etc. This should prove to be an educational and enjoyable journey.

The Base or Root Chakra is associated with the color red. This Chakra is the grounding force that allows us to
connect to the earth energies and empower our beings. Focusing one's attention on the color of a cherry tomato or a
juicy red apple can help bring our energetic body "down to earth" and in alignment with our physical body when we
find ourselves energetically fleeting or in other words....."spacing off."
The Sacral Chakra is associated with the color orange or red-orange. I usually visualize the Sunkist orange that has
been dyed to attract the produce buyer, or the orange red of an evening sunset when I'm focusing on spinning my
second Chakra. This Chakra often offers us the opportunity to lessen our "control issues" and find a balance in our
lives, teaching us to recognize that acceptance and rejection are not the only options in our relationships. The process
of making changes in our life stream through our personal choices is a product of second Chakra energy. A well-
functioning second Chakra helps one to maintain a healthy yin-yang existence.

The Heart Chakra is associated with the color green or pink. This love center of our human energy system is often the
focus in bringing about a healing. Thus, the words "Love Heals All" have great truth. Hurtful situations that can effect
our emotional being are divorce or separation, grief through death, emotional abuse, abandonment, adultery. All of
these are wounding to the heart Chakra. Physical illnesses brought about by heartbreak require that an emotional
healing occur along with the physical healing. Learning to love yourself is a powerful first step in securing a healthy
fourth Chakra. The "wounded child" resides in the heart Chakra.

The Throat Chakra is associated with the color sky blue. This Chakra is our will center. The healthfulness of the fifth
Chakra is in relation to how honestly one expresses himself/herself. Lying violates the body and spirit. We speak our
choices with our voices (throats). All choices we make in our lives have consequences on an energetic level. Even
choosing not to make a choice such as in repressing our anger (not speaking out) may manifest into laryngitis. We
have all experienced that "lump in our throats" when we are at a crossroad of not knowing how to speak the right
words in any given situation, perhaps even stuffing our own emotions. A challenge of the throat Chakra is to express
ourselves in the most truthful manner. Also to receive and assimilate information. Seek only the truth.

The Brow Chakra is associated with the color indigo. It is also often referred to as the "third eye" or the "mind center".
It is our avenue to wisdom - learning from our experiences and putting them in perspective. Our ability to separate
reality from fantasy or delusions is in connection with the healthfulness of this Chakra. Achieving the art of detachment
beyond "small mindedness" is accomplished through developing impersonal intuitive reasoning. It is through an open
brow Chakra that visual images are received.

The Crown Chakra is associated with the color indigo or white. We use the seventh Chakra as a tool to communicate
with our spiritual nature. It is through this vortex that the life force is dispersed from the universe into the lower 6
chakras. It has been referred to as our "GOD SOURCE" - but this terminology might be confusing to anyone who
equates God with religious dogma, because of this I choose to call it a spiritual connection or communicator. This
Chakra is often pictured as a lotus flower opening to allow spiritual awakening in an individual. The crown Chakra
could also be considered the well intuitive knowing is drawn from.

Tip #1: Chakras can have too little energy because they are unused or ignored. They can be
have too much energy due to preoccupations with a particular concern of life. Or they can
have the appropriate amount of energy passing through them making everything around us
flow smoothly, and easily.
Tip #2: Knowing which chakras is out of balance, see if you can spot your situation for
yourself. Then see if you can feel things operating perfectly. To deliberately picture things in
your mind is called visualization, and this mental process has the capacity over time to
balance out the chakra activity.
Tip #3: You guessed it. Our relationships have a definite effect on our chakras. People with
different personalities give us opportunities to sense and use new energies. Our chakras are
balanced, activated, or deactivated by our personal responses to the individuals, pets, and
groups that we attract to ourselves.
Tip #4: Your personality is shaped by the activity (or over activity or under activity) of the
chakras. There are specific physical exercises that can balance your chakras. One is the
complete system of physical movement is known as Hatha Yoga.
Try to honestly sense how these excessive and deficient energies are impacting your daily life.
Then ask yourself what it is that you would like to be able to do to remedy the problem and adjust
your self treatment in that direction. Take care to always make an effort to see your whole self, not
just chakras.

Ask yourself how you could handle certain situations differently. Sometimes a change in attitude is
all that is necessary to correct a chakra imbalance. The change can happen overnight and it might
take decades. I suggest affirmations, meditations, visualizations, colors, are possibilities for
assisting the process.

Sit comfortably at desk with hands, palm upwards on the desktop and feet slightly apart and flat on
the floor. If possible take your shoes off for a more sensitive focus.
Begin to take deep/slow breaths and focus your mind and body on total relaxation. Visualise a ball
of pure white light filling your crown chakra and spreading cleansing light throughout your crown
area.
Continuing to breath in a slow/deep rythm, focus your attention now on your brow chakra and
visualise this light cleansing your brow area and throughout your entire head.
Next move on to your throat and imagine a ball of pure white light filling your throat chakra and
cleansing your entire throat area.
Feel the cleansing as a part of yourself. Know that with every in breath you are taking in cleansing
light to that area and with every out breath you are disguarding all unclean and negative energies.
Next move down to your heart area and imagine the ball of pure white light filling your heart
chakra and cleansing your entire heart area, feel the cleansing light filling your whole heart/chest
area and your upper body and head, feel the warmth of the healing light.
Focus the healing ball of light upon your solar plexus chakra and imagine the entire area
including your upper body to be filling with this cleansing white light.
Continue to breath slowly and easily and focus upon your sacral chakra in the abdominal area
and feel the whole sacral and upper body area filling with cleansing white light.
Finally focus upon your base chakra area and imagine the entire area both above and below
filling with cleansing white light. Feel the clean/warmth of the light.
Continuing to breathe evenly focus your attention on your entire self and gather the white
cleansing light together again in a ball centred in your base chakra area.
Slowly move the ball of cleansing light up your entire body through each chakra from the base
chakra and right up through the sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, brow, and finally in through the
crown chakra. Let the cleansing light just be in the crown chakra for a moment. Then imagine the
cleansing light bursting forth from the crown chakra and sending healing/cleansing energy out to
where it is needed.
Focus your attention again upon your breathing and bring your entire self back to a regular/easy
breathing rythm. Allow yourself to come back when your body tells you that you are ready. This
should take a couple of minutes.
