Hinckley Legacy Chap. 8.

3: The Surprise

Chapter 8.3 Arrives of the Hinckley Legacy, and yes, we're still in Gen. 5 :)
Originally uploaded to thesims2.com Exchange on November 16, 2006

Hello and welcome back to the Hinckley family legacy! We are currently on generation 5, Amelie here is generation 4's heiress. It would take me a while to get you caught up, so if you want to understand a little bit more about what's going on, I'd suggest reading the previous chapters :) Anyway, thanks for dropping in, and I hope you enjoy the ride!

So we left last chapter with some questions. One of the questions, if I remember correctly, was "Why did Luke go to college before his older sisters?" Answers are now following. 1. Amelie is preggo again, yes I wanted there to be one more addition to the 5th generation, I couldn't resist.

2. Lana here is about to turn into a teenager and I didn't want 4 teens running around the house. Can you imagine the headache? Dancing, homework, first kisses, pool, stargazing, pimples... yikes!

3. Leah would've gone but she was so close to getting her billiard scholarship that I decided to send Luke before her.

And with this shot, Leah is now qualified for the billiard scholarship.

It is about time smirky!

Now, to get in more of a storytelling mood, I will switch the whole... narrative perhaps? Go with me, I'm a bit floaty tonight, too much Soul Calibur for me. "Layla, excuse me... " .......Pardon?

"I'm pregnant! Oh wait... I'm supposed to be upset about this... dang it! I'm pregnant... okay, I can't fake it, I'm really excited! Don't tell anyone... it would ruin my image." I swear Amelie is a family sim stuck in a romance sim's body... but what do I know Maxis?

Remember this whole song and dance, it's still the weekend, and that means skill-building. Lacey here is still trying to save this poor dummy's life.

Leah has taken on teaching Lana the required skills for numerous scholarships.

Ending quite an eventful weekend, it's Lana's birthday.

"Hey Leah, seriously, why did they pick that twirp? I'm the one with *the nose*" "Lacey, babe, I don't know if that's a good thing.... what I don't get is why she was favored over me, I mean, she's *my* clone." Ahem... I have nothing to do with it *whistles innocently*

One last look at our little heiress as a kid, and then we get to see what outfit she picks out.

Wow, nice going, that's one of the Maxis outfits that I actually like. You can open your eyes Lana, you're still adorable.

And this is where I'd like to put in a comparison of Lana and Leah's profiles to show that they are truly clones, but cute ones.

Yup, clones.

Even with her age, Amelie is having a simple pregnancy.

Lana spends her extra time she has when she's not skilling to acquaint herself with various NPCs. This fellow is BJ Seavey, a maid, although I'm sure you could see that.

Lacey had been really wanting her first kiss, and she and Melody had the highest relationship out of all of her friends, so wa-lah, first kiss.

Peter and Amelie are very excited for the arrival of their 5th child. Will it be a boy or a girl?

And we mustn't forget about the elders of the house. Being a popularity sim, Gavin here is very close with all of his grandchildren.

And Joanne is still really close to her grilled cheese... Leah doesn't seem to like that Grandma Jo just burped, heh.

Life is pretty typical here at the Hinckleys, with at least 2 sims on the phone at one time.

Despite Joanne's love for cheese, she does still find some time for the biggest cheese in her life, Gavin :) And I'm a close second for cheesiness if you couldn't tell... "Can you leave now Layla, we're kind of busy..." Oh... right... next slide... tra la la.

And finally it's time for Amelie's last birth.

And she gives birth to a beautiful little girl named Liza, with blue eyes and red hair. Although by taking a look at Liza's DNA she is red/blonde meaning that she doesn't carry the original Hinckley red hair trait, so Lana is still the heiress. Liza is the only one with her mother's skintone.

Lacey warmly welcomes Liza into the family, who could resist this cute baby?

The hauntings are still quite common, but after reading a few asylum challenges this past week it made me realize how tame legacy ghosts are.

Orange Alert! Grandma Jo has the kid and she's going towards the refrigerator! "Hey, I'm not *necessarily* goingoingoingoingoing to feed this cheddar haired kid some, provolone, muenster, colby jack, blue cheese, gouda, bree, or swiss cheese...." Hey, I see that cheddar! "I didn't say *anything* about cheddar" *smirks* *Sigh* What am I going to do with you Joanne?

"Hi everybody, I have an announcement to make. Today there will be a special visitor" Amelie, this is not what we had talked about... "Oh, I guess I'm supposed to be talking about how Layla downloaded some default replacement eyes, so if things look a bit different, that would be it" That's a good girl.

Um... I guess Amelie wasn't joking about that "special" guest... he sure is special.

And you know what, it always seems like some poor legacy kid of mine comes home as an overachiever the day one of their grandparents dies. What's with that?

Well, Joanne Hinckley, I guess it's your time. "So what's in this grimster? Is it a cheddar shake?" Ewwww that's just gross! "Sure Joanne, whatever you want..."

And now here's some glitchy pictures because my sims always die/give birth/grow up in crowded spaces...

Do you think anyone else could fit in there?

Amelie is crushed.

Joanne Hinckley, you came after Gavin and then went before him. Even though you never fulfilled your LTW you did die in a great mood, and this I am thankful for. You'll probably always be unique because I probably won't go through another grilled cheese sim for a long time... Hope you enjoy endless days full of gouda.

Amelie, I didn't realize you'd be this upset over your mother's death.

"I'm not upset, it's just that, this is the first time that I've ever eaten something other than grilled cheese when a headmaster wasn't visiting..."

Lana being the sweetheart that she is, goes back to the place where Grandma Jo passed and cries... often.

You know, I love George as a ghost... maybe its guilt because I made fun of him his entire life? Maybe it's because his nose doesn't seem as big as a ghost? Maybe it's because all ghosts slouch so he doesn't look out of place? Or maybe it's just because he's a really friendly ghost. He seems more like a guardian to me.

See what I mean? He's always patrolling when Cheyenne or Jace decide to roam.

Now here's the one person I knew was going to take Joanne's death really badly. You see, Joanne and Gavin were a perfect match... I just hope Gavin can hang on a little bit longer, this family full of "family" sims can't handle another death just yet.

Okay okay, you caught me taking another picture of George, but see what I mean? He's much more like a guardian than a guy out to get you.

Although maybe he just made Liza pee her pants *snicker*

I spy with my little eye, Cafe Petite. Is this true Amelie? "Why yes you are right" With the house in such a gloomy mood, Amelie decided it was about time to check on all of the family businesses.

In honor of Joanne's life, we've added a painting of her making her favorite meal to the walls of Cafe Petite.

With a change of clothes, Amelie decides to tidy up a bit before restocking items.

Amelie stayed there a few days, but silly me didn't take any pictures of it because it was just the usual OFB day. Here she is energizing before moving on to the next family business.

Next stop is Oresha's Family Dining that Madison purchased and ran right before her death.

Amelie has decided to be the chef just like her Grandmother before her.

But to update the place a little bit more, Amelie hired her friend and sister in law Audrey, which turned out to be a very good decision.

We mustn't forget, Amelie is a romance sim... Get back to work and stop staring at that creepy guy's bottom (you know, the one that lives with his mother, the lonely romance sim... don't care to know his name either, lol).

"So Johnny, you should really check out our menu, I think you'd love it!"

So, Audrey is a great waitress, but some other waiter left a dirty dish on her table.

But never fear! Amelie is here!

"Let me get that for you" Amelie... can you please contain your uh.... apples? By the way, it won't do you any good facing me...

"Is he looking?" Yup. "Good" See, she's a faithful romance sim, but needs some kicks every once in a while. And hold on Johnny, what's up with those black socks! Yikes!

I think this is the first waitress/waiter I've had in game to receive a tip, and believe me, she receives a *ton* of tips.

"Hi, is this Amelia's Closest" On the other line "Yes this is Lawrence how may I help you" "This is Amelie Hinckley, and I just wanted to say I'll be over in a few moments, so you'd better have the place in great condition!"

And so Amelie sent Lawrence home for the day and took over make-overs. And she also decided to change the name of the store to Amelie's Closet instead of Amelia.

Amelie is actually quite good at makeovers. Once this townie puts on her new outfit, she'll look fabulous!

Back at home base, Lacey decides to leave for college as well.

Amelie gets home just in time to say goodbye and good luck to her blonde mini-me.

By Lacey, have fun at college with Luke!

Lana is still trying desperately to get the abduction scholarship. Hey, a girl can wish to get points for scholarships can't she?

Gavin has become the resident artist, just like his father before him, he paints to get away from his loneliness.

I love the expression Lana is making in this picture, I think it's priceless.

I thought it was about time for a makeover for Amelie, the pony tail was becoming a nuisance with each passing day.

Gavin... I really wish you wouldn't go to work today, a little birdy (ie your life bar) told me that your life was going to end really soon... but who am I to stop you?

It's hard to believe that these two are only a few days away from becoming elders, they look so youthful to me.

Leah and Lana take the clone thing to a whole 'nother level... come on you guys, you even read smutty novels in unison?

Eek! That's gotta hurt Amelie...

"How does she bend like that?" Hey, you're her husband, don't ask me!

And I tried giving Lana a makeover, but she wouldn't have any of it... No I'm not crazy Lana, *I* thought it was kind of cute...

And she was very pleased to switch back to her original hairstyle.

Okay Gavin, just don't turn around... and maybe we can trick him. "Who are you talking about?"

Oh.... no one *tears* :(

You only just came for Joanne... and now Gavin too.

Well, at least Gavin looks happy.

And he disappears into the afterlife.

Gavin Hinckley was Generation 3's only child and therefore heir, but that doesn't change anything, he's still one of my favorite sims. Gavin, we'll miss you.

And now this was the difficult part. Since both Lana and Leah are family sims, they are both points way from an aspiration failure...

Fortunately they both wanted to gain a skill point, so I set them to that task.

But life must go on, and today it's Liza's birthday. Oh, and I wish Luke over there would go home... it just makes me sad because he came home with Gavin today, and keeps on sticking around.

And it's time for Liza's terrible twos!

Let's just hope Amelie is crying about Gavin.

It looks like Liza has Peter's nose as well.

Just because she's the youngest it doesn't mean that she can get out of the skills.

*phew* Lana is out of the red now. That was a close one.

Once Leah got out of the red as well, I decided to give her a makeover, and unlike Lana she actually liked her makeover.

Hey, I said you liked it! "Ewwww" Well, if you make a face like that, no hairstyle will look good! You're keeping it, so there.

Liza has gotten a makeover as well. I simply love those pigtails by Callum91 over at modthesims2.com

Liza is a really quick learner fortunately.

And no sooner than Liza became a toddler it's time for both Peter and Amelie's birthdays.

Please look decent you two.

Awww, I love that hairstyle for an elder. Lookin' good Amelie.

And even though Peter has some quite noticeable bags under his eyes, he's quite a charmer himself.

And after a change of clothes, Amelie looks like a sophisticated elder.

So, this is the point where the Hinckley house was just too... familiar for me, and since I didn't want angry ghosties I had to go through the painstaking process of rebuilding on the same lot. Too bad I didn't wait until I got Pets because that delete all walls cheat would've come in very handy!

So, here's the Hinckley's new house. It's much smaller, and much more user friendly. I added a little jacuzzi area on top of the garage and left spaces up there for date cards and roses.

I also decided it was about time they got a pool. If you look really closely in this picture you'll see some floating wall tiles. Those tiles just simply wouldn't delete, so they stay there, *chuckle*

Since Amelie has been tending to all of the family businesses, she's decided it's about time that she learns how to make snapdragon bouquets so that each spare from now on moves out with a snapdragon bouquet of their own.

Lana, Leah, and Liza all love the new dining room. I love it too *hugs copy of Glamour Life* Sidenote, I just thought this picture was adorable with both Lana and Leah looking down at their little sister.

And Gavin haunts for the first time, and he's happy to see that his bed is still here even after the remodel.

Madison also decided to come out tonight with her son.

Of course Gavin needs his share of haunting experience. I think all of the family is used to getting haunted by now.

And now, does this picture creep anyone else out? Yikes! Madison, Cheyenne, stop being so creepy! And you know what I just realized, all of the generations were active that night, kind of cool actually.

Amelie, quit spying on John Burb. I don't know what that guy is doing to get all of you to spy on him... but you've got to quit it. He'll probably be over here any minute now.

Eep, Amelie, don't turn around.

John, I thought you were angry, why are you waving your hand with heart bubbles above your head. "Well, I was angry until I found out it was that smoking granny Amelie" Ya know Amelie, you lucked out this time.

It's so odd to me that there's only two generations living in this house right now. It seems like Amelie and Peter should be Liza's grandparents or something.

Hehehehehe, hello Mr. Tinker! I see you're still suffering from a bad makeover courtesy Madison *snickers*

Even though Lana has gotten numerous offers from different colleges, she's decided that she will go directly into politics.

Lana is such a cute little family sim. And yes, I realize I've said that a few times now.

Before the double birthday, I need to throw in some more adorable pictures of Liza as a toddler.

Leah does the honors of helping Liza blow out her candles.

Okay cutie, grow up.

Awwww, Liza the Lizard! hehe "I would like to be called Lizzie now? Kay?" Sure sweety. awwww.

And now it's Leah's turn to do something that hasn't happened in my game for a realllllly long time, go straight from a teen to an adult.

Aw, she's such a cutie, okay, now I have even higher hopes for the future of this legacy :)

Bernadette Peters* just called and said she wants to know why you have to exact same tattoo as she does.... Now go change those clothes pronto! -------------------------*Bernadette Peters from my Apocalypse Challenge that is.

And what's Lizzie's first autonomous action as a child? Cleaning the tub *Huggles my neat little lizard*

Much better Leah, but you do know that was Cheyenne's shirt? "Yeah, I know, vintage is in right now." That's true... So, this is where I must leave you for now my kind readers. I hope you all join me next time for the end of Chapter 8, and if you're saying "Finally" just know that so am I!
