In his 11 games back in the lineup, Chavez is batting .282 with 10 RBIs (second-most in the Carolina League over that span) and eight walks. He drove in four runs last night and had a four-RBI game a week ago against Myrtle Beach and todays starter Alec Asher. Chavez blasted his fifth homer of the season that game, a three-run shot off Asher in the fifth inning. JOHNNY BE QUICK: Keys outfielder Johnny Ruettiger stole third base last night improving his season total to 34, third best in the Carolina League and three steals out of second place. Ruettigers been efficient on the basepaths, too, successfully swiping bags when he runs 83 percent of the time. HOME WRECKERS: The Keys snapped a five-game home losing streak with last nights 12-4 win against Carolina, a much-needed victory at Harry Grove Stadium. The Keys are currently a half ahead of Wilmington for the second-half playoff berth in the North and 13 of their final 23 games are at home. Even with last nights win, the Keys have lost seven of their last 10 and nine of their last 13 at The Grove. Theyre 8-15 at home in the second half and have yet to win a home series this half.
