Dear Friend, Hi, This year, I'll be taking part in the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes. Im walking because JDRF is the only global organization with a strategic research plan to fight type 1 diabetes (T1D), a serious autoimmune disease that affects millions of people. Type 1 diabetes has nothing to do with diet or lifestyle, and there is nothing you can do to prevent it. Currently, there is no cure. People with T1D must manage the disease by injecting or pumping insulin several times a day, every day. But insulin is not a cure, and it does not prevent the possibility of serious complications like kidney failure, blindness, and stroke.

We can reach a world without T1D faster with your help! Will you please support my commitment by making a donation today?
It is faster and easier than ever to donate. Just click Visit My Personal Page below to donate online. If you prefer, you can mail your check to me at the address listed below. Checks can be made out to JDRF with my name in the memo section.

20815 180th Ave Barrett, MN 56311-1150

JDRF is making meaningful progress because of gifts like yours. Any amount, great or small, brings JDRF closer to its goal of moving scientific advances from the laboratory to clinical trials and into the hands of people with T1D. Please consider donating today! Sincerely, Patricia Schack

Northwestern Minnesota Synod Evangelical Lutheran Church in America Gods work. Our hands. Dear friends of Peace Lutheran Church: We write to you on behalf of our synod's malaria team, The Pesky Mosquitoes, to give you an update of the work we are doing together as we join in the efforts of the ELCA Malaria Campaign.

We have some great news to share. We have exceeded our goal and raised $225,7323.21!! We are so grateful for the work done by faithful members of our synod who have contributed to this campaign. Our record show that your congregation has contributed $2,329.04, and we are so grateful for your gift. We could not do this without you, and we are so moved by your generosity. It is congregations like yours who have put your resources together and made a real difference in the fight to end this disease that is both treatable and preventable. We write to simply to say thank, you, and keep up the work.
Yours in Christ,

The Pesky Mosquitoes.

Stewardship of the Good News

Responsibility. Did you just shudder? Its one of those heavy words in the English language. I dont know if its the 6 syllables, or the baggage associated with it, but responsibility is a fun killer. You dont drive your car 90 miles an hour down County 2 it isnt responsible. You dont skip work because youd rather fish or knit or sleep or do anything other than work it isnt responsible. You dont eat an entire box of chocolates, you dont stay up until 4am to watch a movie when you have a test or a meeting the next morning, and if you make a mess, you clean it up. Its easy to label this as a have-to, but then where is the joy in it? We share life and love with others, thats not an obligation at all! We are given the opportunity to! What a gift and honor! Its not always easy, just like being responsible isnt always easy, but it sure is worth it!

Responsibility is one of those have-to words. Have to do laundry, have to do dishes, have to make a God bless your work, living, have to... ~Pastor Matthew But what if it wasnt? What if we changed our perspective from a have-to to a get-to? Things seem a little less tedious. Dont believe me? Try it out. Next time youre grumbling about a task, choose a different perspective. Choose to see the ways you are equipped to do the work, or the ways you are benefiting someone else. Choose to see your task as being faithful to Gods call to do your work whole-heartedly. Responsibility is meant to be a gift and an honor to have. And we have been given the great gift of life in Christs name, and the great honor of sharing that gift with others. Christ gave us this responsibility in Matthew 28, All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you.

Christ had one final word for his disciples as he gave them those responsibilities, Remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age. What a blessing to know that our work is always done in Gods Presence, and at the end, we will hear Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your masters happiness!
