INA TO VISIT HCEC
As the Diocese of Caceres and the entire Bicolanos celebrate the Tercentenary of the
Devotion to our Lay of Penafrancia, a Pastoral Visit of the image of Ina is being held. This
weekend, Ina will visit Iriga City. The image will be welcomed on Saturday at St.
Anthony de Padua Chruch and will visit different barangays and schools. On Monday,
January 10, 2010, Ina is scheduled to visit HCEC at 8:00 am. A para-liturgy, rosary and
visit will be held by the pupils and teachers in her honor. It is a humbling and a holy
experience to be visited by our Ina. Her presence brings us comfort, refuge and healing
through her intercession to Jesus, her son.
When a child is in need, he goes to her mother, but if the child is in danger, the mother
goes to her child to give comfort and protection. With our blessed Mother Mary, we are
assured that if we are her devoted children, she will be with us all the time, praying for
us and interceding for us. A great mother’s love.
Pupils are advised to bring a rosary and a white flag let on Monday. The welcoming starts
at 8:00am. Parents are invited to come.
Education Week, a tribute
to pupils and teachers
The last week of January is devoted to
pay tribute to the pupils and teachers.
In recognition to the effort and
commitment of the academic
community of HCEC, Education Week
will be celebrated with the following
events:
• Cultural Adventure Trip (CAT) –
an educational tour that will
provide pupils experience the
real world outside the four
walls of the classroom. This is
not a compulsory activity.
• Pupils’ Day- a two-day
classroom experience of
selected pupils that will
assume the role of the
teachers’
• Tribute to Mentors/ Teachers’
Day – event where teachers will
be given tribute and words of
gratefulness from the pupils.
Education Week tagged as “ Guro ko,
Hero ko, Estudyante ko, Mahal ko” will
reinforce and affirm the importance of
the pupils-teachers relationship and
team work in the teaching-learning
process.
Looking forward to Cultural
Adventure Trip season 3
The grade school division will have the
Cultural Adventure Trip (CAT) in line with
the Education Week: Pupils’ Day and
Tribute to Mentors (Teachers’ day) on
January 25-30, 2010. The CAT is now on
its 3rd Season, the last one was in AY 2008-
2009.
CAT is an outbound educational learning
experience for the pupils. It is an
educational tour that focuses on the
cultural and social awareness that
specifically aims to:
1. provide a hands-on experience of
the real-world;
2. offer pupils opportunity to
explore the environment and
validate their learning in the
classroom;
3. have the time for the learning
experience outside the
classroom
To organize this plan, the 13th
Latitude Travel and Tours will
provide us the entire tour package that
includes:
1. Organization and coordination
of the itineraries;
2. whole day transport with a
non-air conditioned bus
3. individual accident insurance
both for pupils and teachers;
4. service of tour directors and
coordinator for each bus;
5. all entrance fees / participation
fees.
CAT 3 for Primary and Intermediate is
not compulsory. Only those pupils who
will be allowed by the parents will join.
This educational tour will just be a
supplementary activity that will
complement their learning in the
classroom.
Since this activity is not compulsory,
there will be a deadline for the
reservation to join CAT 3. For those
interested, kindly fill-up the reservation
form included in this issue sand return
it on or before January 15 for the
Intermediate and January 18 for the
Primary. Please strictly follow the
deadline date so as to avoid
inconvenience. We have commissioned
a tour coordinator so we need to
submit the final list ahead of time.
Reservation may or not include the
payment. If you will allow your child to
attend, submit ASAP your reservation,
payments may be sent a day before the
trip. Companions are allowed for the
same tour fee.
