I. MISSION/VISION

THE SCHOOL will continue to spearhead the essence of its


mission/vision to provide an education for the holistic formation of
the young.

A. The school will simplify the essence of its vision/mission to make It


clearer to the young and its stakeholders.

B. The simplified mission/vision will be posted in all visible corners of


the school facilities.

C. The school will use a variety of methods to communicate with all


families and community members about the school’s
vision/mission and goals

D. The Stakeholders and the young will need to assimilate the


simplified vision/mission of the school.

E. The mission/vision must be aligned with the school culture and


climate
2. SCHOOL CLIMATE AND CULTURE
The school will evolve into an academic community a
climate and culture animated by the spirit of Truth, Love,
Compassion, Peace, Collaboration and Devotion to the Mother of
God. The school will:

A. take stock of the current state of the school culture to appreciate


what is working well and change what is not

1. Artifacts – what do these conveys about the school’s values


2. Architecture - How does the school’s facility reflect the school
commitment and values
3. History – How is the history of the school kept alive
4. Mission – What norms (which reflects values and beliefs) guide
the school
5. Storytelling – Do school leaders tell stories to make strong point.
What are the key stories of the school
6. Rituals and ceremonies - what rituals are practiced in school
7. Informal staff roles – who are the staff members who ha a hand
in conveying the culture either in positive or negative way

B. aspire for a collegial culture to be able to implement the rigor of


21st century learning strategies

C. uphold social justice and equity concepts and practices mutual


respect for individual differences at all levels of school interactions-
student-to-student, adult-to-student, and adult to adult

D. value open communications, integrity and commitment in


witnessing the Dominican ideals of Truth, Justice, and Love.

J. end harsher punishment and counterproductive disciplinary


strategies that push students out of school . Instead, the school will
give emphasis on high expectations and a caring attitude toward
individual students.

K. establish a tone of persistent effort over time by making the


vision/mission statement a living document of teachers, parents,
and students.

L. bring the assets of community organizations – including art, music,


sports, and health and mental health services into the life of the
school

M. affirm the cultural backgrounds of the diverse students that schools


serve, so all young people and adults feel s sense of belonging and
respect for who they are.
N. prioritize social, emotional, and cognitive skills and competencies in
recruitment, hiring, and orientation. Follow through with ongoing
Professional Learning and support for adults to foster the whole
learner

3. STANDARD OF EDUCATION - CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTION

THE SCHOOL WILL CHALLENGE EACH STUDENT


ACADEMICALLY AND PREPARE THEM FOR SUCCESS IN COLLEGE
OR FURTHER STUDY AND FOR EMPLOYMENT AND PARTICIPATION
IN A GLOBAL ENVIRONMENT.

The school curriculum and instruction, and assessment will :

A. provide opportunities for students to develop critical thinking and


reasoning skills, problem-solving competencies, and technology
proficiency using the 4C’s

B. demonstrate high expectations for each student and an


understanding of child and adolescent growth and development

C. include project based strategies to prepare students for further


education, career, and citizenship

D. develop student’s global awareness and competencies including


understanding of language and culture

E. provide cross-curricular opportunities for learning with and


through technology

F. faculty members will use active learning strategies such as


cooperative learning and project based learning
G. Each student in the school will have access to a range of options
and choices for a wide array of extracurricular and co-curricular
activities that reflect student interests, goals and learning profiles

H. faculty members will use a range of inquiry-based, experiential


learning task and activities to help all students deepen their
understanding of what they are learning and why they are learning
it

I. Use curriculum related experiences such as field trips and


outreach projects to complement and extend our curriculum and
instruction.

J. monitor and assess extracurricular and community based


experiences to ensure students’ academic and personal growth

K. teach specific skills and competencies and infuse them in


academic content and in all aspects of the school setting (recess,
lunchroom, hallways, extra- curricular activities) not just in stand-
alone programs or lesson.

4. STUDENT SERVICES

The school will promote a learning environment that is


physically and emotionally safe for students and adult

A. The school health education will support and reinforce the health
and well-being of each student by addressing the physical, mental,
emotional and social dimensions of health
B. The school will facilitate student and staff access to heath, mental
health and dental services

C.
The school will support, promote, and reinforce heathy eating
patterns and food safety in routine food services and special
programming and events for students and staff

D. The school staff , students and family members will establish and
maintain school and classroom behavioral expectations, rules, ,
and routines that teach students how to manage their behavior
and help students improve their problem behavior

E. The school will develop and implement academic and behavioral


interventions based on an understanding of child and adolescent
development and learning theories

F. The school physical education schedule will support and reinforce


the health and well-being by addressing lifetime fitness knowledge,
behavior, attitude and skills

G. The school staff will work closely with students to help them
monitor and direct their own progress

H. The school will promote and reinforce responsible environmental


habits through recycling, trash management and other efforts

I. The school will guarantee that no students are left behind. Data
will be continually used to identify students who need additional
support for learning. Students are not made to feel that they are
burdens or “losers” but individuals who may need more time to
master the identified curriculum.

J. The school will devise a system of supports for student learning


that enables all students to be successful.
K. The school will guarantee that each student has access to school
counselors and other structured academic, social, and emotional
support system

5 COMMUNITY SERVICES

The school will intensify the participation of faculty and staff,


parents, students and alumni in school-based and community based
projects that will deepen their socio-civic responsibility towards the
less privilege

A. The school will provide more opportunities to direct exposure to


the different sectors of the community especially the depressed
areas

B. The school will strengthen its link-ups with other organizations,


agencies to sustain the continuity of the Outreach Programs and
Projects

6. ALUMNI/NETWORKING

The school will continue to encourage the active participation of


the alumni in all its endeavors, in witnessing to the Truth and
Compassion of the living God by way of establishing an Alumnae
Scholarship Fund to provide scholarship for deserving students. The
scholarship will be awarded to students in need who demonstrate
Academic excellence, character and commitment
7. Physical Facilities/Finance

The school will continue to enhance its sources of revenue to


meet the increasing financial demands of operation and program
development

A. The school will advance the general welfare of all the members of
the school by upgrading the school facilities.

1. The school building, grounds, playground equipment and
vehicles are secure and meet all established and safety and
environmental standard

8.. MARKETING
A. The school will strengthen its marketability by forging partnership
with Home, Alumni, and linkages with private schools
B. The school will work for the establishment of more kinds of
scholarship to make it accessible to all
IMPLEMENTATION:

a. All members of the school community are called to use these


directives as a framework for decisions and plan of actions.

b. Each service unit should own these directions to help realize the
school’s vision/mission.

c. In consideration of financial constraints, conceptualized


projects in support of these directions will be carefully
examined. Priority is to be given to the most beneficiai one

d. Should contribution from members of a steering committee, or


an solicitation be needed in order to implement a project, a
permit to do so needs to be communicated to the top level
management for proper administration of collection and use of
funds.
