Nevada SB287 Parent Volunteering

Parents,
Nevada has passed a law with specific requirements for individuals volunteering in our schools. At DMC we average over
25 parent volunteers a week and we love our parents! They are invaluable to our programs here!

The law states that IF a parent volunteers 4 or MORE times per month OR is left unsupervised with students then
they must go through the volunteer process.
That process includes 1) Completing a volunteer form online at the CCSD website (ccsd.net/protectourkids). 2) Get
fingerprinted $60.00 fee (school does not pay for). 3)Once application and fingerprinting is submitted and complete
then CCSD will issue a badge.

We are having our teachers re-work their parent volunteer schedules so all volunteers fall under the 3 days per
month. IF you would like to go through the process and continue volunteering MORE than 3 times per month
please contact Mrs. Janosik at 799-5730 for information on going through the SB287 process.
*After school classes/clubs do not fall under the SB287 if not contracted through school.

November 20th 24th is Thanksgiving Break
