Pampered Chef Fundraiser for Panhellenic Style Show

Order Now through Sept. 20
Each year, the area’s sorority alumnae groups are asked to provide at least three items valued
at $25 or more as donations for the Dayton Alumnae Panhellenic Association’s Style Show &
Silent Auction scholarship fundraiser. As a way to make this fun for our members, our chapter
typically holds a fundraiser in which the hostess items are used for our Silent Auction donations.

This year, we will again be shopping from the Pampered Chef catalog through consultant and
sister Emily Denlinger. You can order items from now through Sept. 20, 2010. For browsing and
ordering information, visit Emily’s shopping website for this online show:

Celebrating the Magic of Service: Sigma Kappa Convention 2010

From July 7-11, 2010, the 84th Convention of
Sigma Kappa Sorority took place in Orlando,
Fla., at the beautiful Marriott World Center
Resort. Loretta Good and I felt privileged to
attend the Convention. Loretta attended as the
co-president of the Gamma Omega House
Corporation Board for the chapter at
Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio.

At the business meetings, we elected a new

National Council to serve the next biennium
and amended many parts of the Constitution
and by-laws to help the sorority run more
Pat Baker with Leila Eddy from the efficiently. (Meet National Council.)
New Orleans Alumnae Chapter

There also were two changes in the officers of both collegiate and alumnae chapters. The
recording secretary and corresponding secretary were combined to become the Vice President
of Communications. The Foundation and Philanthropy Chairmen were made into the Vice
President of Philanthropic Service. Not only does this elevate the important philanthropic
aspects of the chapter to a seat on the Executive Council, but it also frees up the collegiate Vice
President of Alumnae Relations to have more time to do what she is really supposed to do.

The always impressive Initiation ceremony with more than 450 members involved was a
highlight. Loretta attended workshops geared toward Corporation Boards, while Pat attended
ones about the new Connect Program, the Ultra Violet program, and ritual. We had fun at the
Confirmed Conventionite evening where we dressed as fictional characters and went as a group
to Walt Disney’s Magic Kingdom another evening. We enjoyed talking to alumnae that we have
met in the past and meeting new alumnae and collegiate members in attendance this year.

I thank you for the opportunity to represent the Dayton Alumnae Chapter. Both Loretta and I
came away from the Convention inspired and ready to serve our beloved sorority.

Pat Baker
VP of Communications
