STAGE 2 RESTART

K – 12 EDUCATION OPTIONS
Parent Information Sheet September 2020

The BC Ministry of Education priority in Stage 2 is to have all students


participate fully in in-class learning. The BC Education Restart Plan,
states that “having students in the classroom helps to minimize learning
gaps, and provide the academic, social and emotional supports essential
for learning”.

The Chilliwack School District Stage 2 Restart Plan prioritizes Full-time


in-class instruction for students in Kindergarten through to Grade
12: This option has students safely returning to full-time in-class
instruction with set cohorts/learning groups, physical distancing and mask
protocols as outlined by the Provincial Health Officer and the BC Centre
for Disease Control. Please see your school website for specific details.

The Chilliwack School District will also provide the following options for some students:

LEARN FROM HOME: TRANSITION SUPPORT HYBRID PROGRAM (Elementary and Middle)
Elementary & Middle – Distributed Learning

Duration: Temporary support for students who are not attending their Duration: Full-time continuing blended learning program with

ADDITIONAL OPTIONS
Distributed Learning Schools offered through an online learning center using BC curriculum and under the supervision of a BC certified teacher
with support from a home facilitator.

Homeschooling options offered with a home facilitator (Example: family member) responsible for planning & delivering the educational program.
