Nu Chapter Texas State Organization Delta Kappa Gamma Society International Transitional Board Meeting Minutes June 25,

Nu President Barbara Pevoto called the Transitional Board Meeting of Nu Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International (DKG) to order at 12:45 p.m. on Monday, June 25, 2012, in the Wimberley, Texas Community Library meeting room. Members Present: Barbara Pevoto, Kathy Carriker, Sandra Morales, Carol Grimm, Evelyn Barrett, Ruth Spear, Loretta Eiben, Nadyne Gartman, and Tonda Frady. Discussion/ State Conference Immediate Past Nu President Evelyn Barrett gave highlights of the TSO convention. She commended member Cheryl Blake for receiving a 2012 Annie Award for her program, Yoga.Fitness for All and Golden Oldies. Nu Chapter also received the Rosebud Award for maintaining membership, the Five Star Newsletter recognition, the Exemplary Yearbook Early Bird Award, and the Presidents Award for Chapter Excellence (P.A.C. E. Award). Nu Chapter Successes Barbara Pevoto highlighted the Tri County DKG gathering Nu hosted in January 2012, the fundraiser and housewarming party for DKG members from Bastrop, Texas after they lost their homes to wildfires, and the awards Nu Chapter received at the 2012 Texas State Organization DKG meeting. Review Officers Info for Yearbook Barbara Pevoto, Nu President, passed out a Nu Officer Information Sheet. Officers made changes to their contact information as needed. Review Committee members assignments for the Yearbook Joy Philpott was added to the Program Committee. Evelyn Barrett was added to the Yearbook Committee.

Tonda Frady, Nu Treasurer, will provide Margie Harmon documents for the annual audit. Evelyn Barrett reported there is a new CD of Delta Kappa Gamma Songs. Tonda Frady will order the CD. President Pevoto reported the Nu Chapter Yearbook will be completed by September 2012. It was suggested that Laura Kirkscey put the yearbook on a flash drive. Mary Nabers publishes the Nu Newsletter the first week of each month. A blurb about upcoming meetings will be included along with minutes from the previous meeting. Kathy Carriker, Nu secretary, will bring copies of the previous months minutes to each meeting. A Delta Kappa Gamma Go to Guide for Chapter members was shared. Sandra Morales offered to pay for 10 books to include in Nu Chapters Initiates packets for this year. Carol Grimm displayed crocheted necklaces that Nu Chapter members are making. Nadyne Gartman moved to sell these necklaces for $8.00 each for Nus Grant in Aid fundraising efforts at the Area VII workshop and at the 2013 State Convention. The second was made by Sandra Morales. The motion passed. Programs were discussed. September: Legislative- John Adams, candidate for State Representative. October: initiation of new members. November: World War II remembrances from a Veteran to his daughter . December 15, at 10 a.m. (Saturday): meet at International Headquarters in Austin. The meeting was adjourned at 1:35 p.m. by Nu President Barbara Pevoto.
