TITLE OF THE PROJECT

MOBILE E-MAIL SYSTEM USING J2ME

INTERNAL GUIDE

SYNOPSIS
J2ME Mail Client package is a fully functional software project which can be used to retrieve E-mails from cell phones using POP3 protocol. This feature has been implemented for the security reasons

OBJECTIVES
It uses Java 2 Micro Edition Wireless Toolkit as a simulator of the real time mobile device. All the Emails are readily available for user retrieval from phone.

It enables the clients to retrieve mails with connection to the CMailServer.

EXISTING SYSTEM

The existing solutions for accessing E-Mails through these devices in GSM/Wireless Networks are WAP and SMS based. Obviously due to various disadvantages of these solutions, I have taken an initiative to provide this new solution as my academic project

PROPOSED SYSTEM

Provides enhanced user experience. Reduces airtime requirement. Provides rich animated graphics. MIME versions are supported

CMAIL SERVER

Supports sending and receiving email via web browser. Supports sending and receiving email via Internet. Allows user to register mailbox, change password, and modify user info via web browser. Allows administrator to create, delete, and disable user's mailbox and set mailbox size.

FUTURE ENHANCEMENT

Delete Mail functionality is not yet supported in both Web Version and also J2ME version. The signup Servlet from where user's can signup for this service has yet to be implemented.

CONCLUSION
This project is thus used for retrieving mails through mobile device The scope of this project is to enable the clients to retrieve mails with the help of CMailServer
