Parts of A Circle

Select a whole number measurement. Can you draw circles which use your measurement for each part named above?
Eg.

Measurement 6 cm

Circle 1 Radius = 6 cm

Circle 2 Circle 3 Diameter = 6 cm Circumference = 6 cm

Circle 4 Chord = 6 cm

How can you define each part of a circle? Can you predict the size order of your circles from largest to smallest? What tools might help you draw accurate circles? What strategies could help you to draw each of your circles to the specified size? How can you measure and check your findings? Can you repeat with another measurement and compare? What if you used a decimal measurement? How can you describe the relationship between different parts of circles? Can you use your findings to create a design using concentric circles?
