Mobility

Analysis and Modeling Using AT&T GPEH Data

Mehrdad Moradi Pedro dAquino

Motivation
Numbers of mobile users that have access to the Internet are growing todays and people are trying to create Internet2 it is highly important to consider mobility as a rst must-see step:
Re-designing Re-architecCng Improvement

MobilityFirst
The MobilityFirst project is funded by the NaConal Science FoundaCon's Future Internet Architecture (FIA):
SeparaCon of naming and addressing Generalized delay-tolerant rouCng Robustness of mobility support

This project is a collaboraCve eort involving Rutgers, UMass, MIT, Duke, U Michigan, UNC, U Wisconsin, and U Nebraska

Our Proposal
We will propose a mobility model using General Performance Event Handling (GPEH) :
Collected events of AT&T Radio Network Controllers (RNCs) Including cell informaCon, radio measurements, and call messages
Handover requests and failures informaCon

We will design and develop, and evaluate our mobility model using various topological datasets, specially AS level ones, of Internet that is gathered by CAIDA:
inputs of RobustNet research group network simulator
