Pray through Gods Story (Week 26)

Focus on God
God is the only one who saw our true condition. He is the only Savior. For the Lord saw that the affliction of Israel was very bitter, for there was none left, bond or free, and there was none to help Israel. But the Lord had not said that he would blot out the name of Israel from under heaven, so he saved them by the hand of Jeroboam the son of Joash. (2 Kings 14:26, 27)

Respond from the Heart

Ask for Gods forgiveness for times we are trying to flee his presence and his calling for us. Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and call out against it, for their evil has come up before me. But Jonah rose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. He went down to Joppa and found a ship going to Tarshish. So he paid the fare and went on board, to go with them to Tarshish, away from the presence of the Lord. (Jonah 1:2, 3)

Seek First the Kingdom

Pray for an unreached people group, for a city, and for a Muslim country. Pray that God will send out more laborers (including you and your church) into his harvest. And the Lord said, You pity the plant, for which you did not labor, nor did you make it grow, which came into being in a night and perished in a night. And should not I pity Nineveh, that great city, in which there are more than 120,000 persons who do not know their right hand from their left, and also much cattle? (Jonah 4:10, 11)

Present Your Requests

Seek the Lords favor and ask him to help you in areas of your life where you need the most help today. Then Jehoahaz sought the favor of the Lord, and the Lord listened to him, for he saw the oppression of Israel, how the king of Syria oppressed them. (Therefore the Lord gave Israel a savior, so that they escaped from the hand of the Syrians, and the people of Israel lived in their homes as formerly. (2 Kings 13:4, 5 ESV)

Close in Celebration
Praise and thank God for the salvation we have in Christ. Thank him also for how he is saving you from dangers everyday. But I with the voice of thanksgiving will sacrifice to you; what I have vowed I will pay. Salvation belongs to the Lord! And the Lord spoke to the fish, and it vomited Jonah out upon the dry land. (Jonah 2:9, 10)
