Pray through Gods Story (Week 21)

Focus on God
Proclaim the great and wondrous things God has done. O God, from my youth you have taught me, and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds. So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to another generation, your power to all those to come. Your righteousness, O God, reaches the high heavens. You who have done great things, O God, who is like you? (Psalm 71:1719) Respond in singing his praises. I will also praise you with the harp for your faithfulness, O my God; I will sing praises to you with the lyre, O Holy One of Israel. My lips will shout for joy, when I sing praises to you; my soul also, which you have redeemed. (Psalm 71:22-23)

Respond from the Heart

Pray for a heart passionate for God and his Word. Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the Lord! Blessed are those who keep his testimonies, who seek him with their whole heartHow can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word. With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments! I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. (Psalm 119:1-2, 9-11)

Seek First the Kingdom

Pray that God will grant wisdom to the leaders of our nation and that people may see it. Pray that God will grant wisdom to the leaders of our church and that our members may see it. And all Israel heard of the judgment that the king had rendered, and they stood in awe of the king, because they perceived that the wisdom of God was in him to do justice. (1 Kings 3:28) Pray that our nation and our church will be happy as they are led by wise leaders. Judah and Israel were as many as the sand by the sea. They ate and drank and were happy. Solomon ruled over all the kingdoms from the Euphrates to the land of the Philistines and to the border of Egypt. They brought tribute and served Solomon all the days of his life. (1 Kings 4:20-21)

Present Your Requests

Ask God to give you wisdom in your daily life and in making decisions. At Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night, and God said, Ask what I shall give you. Give your servant therefore an understanding mind to govern your people, that I may discern between good and evil, for who is able to govern this your great people? (1 Kings 3:5, 9) Ask him anything that your heart (and his heart) desires. Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. (Psalm 37:4)

Thank God for granting your request and giving you much more than you expected. Behold, I now do according to your word. Behold, I give you a wise and discerning mind, so that none like you has been before you and none like you shall arise after you. I give you also what you have not asked, both riches and honor, so that no other king shall compare with you, all your days. (1 Kings 3:12-13)
