Journal #5 Compose a formal letter: 1.

A formal letter starts off by using something like dear senator, or to whom it may concern. A formal essay would have to be articulated very well for somebody to be taken seriously. It would have paragraphs, all the grammar would be correct, and it would sound smart. The formal letter would start with an introduction and end with a closing statement. It would have to be persuasive. 2. The advantages to a formal letter are that it would get to the person you intend to read it, and it would outline what you wanted to say in a mature way. It is easy to make people take you seriously using this method over other methods. 3. The disadvantages to a formal letter would be that only one person would see it. If only one person sees it then you wouldnt be able to convince or inform a large group. Post-it Note 1. A post-it note would typically consist of lists or a simple statement that can be read quickly. Grammar is not very important in a post-it note. It should be short, simple, and to the point. 2. The advantage with a post-it note is that they are small and easy to read. You could post the same slogan in a million places just to get people informed. 3. The disadvantage with a post-it note is that because they are small you arent able to write a lot of information on them. You may not be able to convay your entire thought or belief on just one poet-it note. Fairy Tale 1. A fairy tale for children would most likely consist of pictures, but it doesnt have to. The message in the fairy tale wouldnt be direct and to the point, it would have to sugar coat the message in a way that kids would understand and enjoy. The fairy tale couldnt be long because children will loose interest. 2. A fairy tale for children has the advantage that you get the message out to children and their parents. The message will be instilled in kids minds at a young age and they will grow up with the belief. 3. The disadvantages of writing a fairy tale for children are that parents may not read it to the kids, kids may not understand the message, and a broad audience wouldnt see it. I am trying to get gay marriage legalized, and I would use post-it notes. I would use post-it notes because they are very diverse and it would raise awareness all over the place. If everybody knows about something and cares about something then the senator will have to care.
