Fifth Semester B.Tech. Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Examination, July 2009 LAB : MEASUREMENTS AND INSTRUMENTATION LAB
Time : 3 Hours Max. Marks : 100

1. Design and setup a circuit to generate square wave with frequency 2 kHz and duty cycle 30%, with amplitude 12 Vpp. 2. Design and setup a circuit to convert input square wave, to waveform with positive pulses of duration 2 ms. 3. Design and setup a circuit that shows distinct displays with two LEDs to indicate range of input voltages : 0 to 2.5 V; 2.5 to 5 V; 5 to 7.5 V and 7.5 to 10 V. 4. Design and setup unipolar and bipolar DAC circuits using IC. Observe outputs corresponding to all possible inputs. 5. Find any four parameters of 2 different opamps. Compare the results. 6. Design and setup a circuit to measure temperature using thermocouple. 7. Design and setup voltage to frequency converter using IC 565. Take free running frequency as 100 kHz. 8. Design and setup phase shift oscillator circuit to generate output of frequency 5 kHz. 9. Design and setup a circuit to generate 1 kHz square wave with duty cycle 30 %. 10. Design and setup circuit to measure level using capacitive transducer. 11. Design and setup flash converter to give two bit digital output for analog input voltage ranging from 0 to 5 V. 12. Design and setup instrumentation amplifier with minimum 90 dB CMRR. 13. Design and setup a circuit to measure temperature using RTD.

14. Design and setup voltage regulator, with short circuit protection using IC 723 for output voltage 6 V and short circuit current 60 mA. Plot load regulation. 15. Design and setup weinbridge oscillator circuit to generate output of frequency 3 kHz. 16. Design and setup a universal active filter for low pass, high pass and band pass characteristics with center frequency 500 Hz and quality factor 5. 17. Design and setup flash converter to give two bit digital output for analog input voltage ranging from 0 to 5 V. 18. Design and setup a circuit to measure displacement using LVDT. 19. Design and setup voltage regulator, with short circuit protection using IC 723 for output voltage 9 V and short circuit current 60 mA. Plot load regulation. 20. Design and setup a monostable circuit to obtain pulses of duration 2 ms. 21. Develop and test ladder program using PLC, for full subtractor logic. 22. Measure following parameters of given opamp : slew rate, input bias current, offset voltage, input resistance, CMRR. 23. Design and setup a circuit to convert input square wave, to waveform with positive pulses of duration 1 ms.
