Activity No. 2 Interview of Experts/ Researchers/ Alumni/ Faculty Members Actuarial Research 1 2nd Sem. 2012-2013 Objective of this Activity: This activity will provide the students opportunity to get insights and ideas from experts or experienced individuals in the field of Applied Mathematics and related fields which may help the students decide on their topic of research.

Instruction to the students: First secure permission from the individual you intend to interview. Be prepared when you come for the interview. List down below guide questions which will facilitate the interview: 1. In choosing a research topic, do you think what only matters is its relevance and timeliness? If not, what else do you think should we consider in choosing a research topic? 2. In your point of view, do our mathematical researches have a big role in the development of the Philippine economy? 3. What are the economic issues in our country that should be further explored through our research? 4. The sin tax law has been passed last month, do you think forecasting its forthcoming effects on the Philippine Economy through our mathematical study would serve beneficial to the society? Why? Additional question: 5. As a knowledgeable individual in the field of Actuarial Science, what are other topics that you may recommend students to further explore in our research?
