Doordarshan, one of the largest broadcasting organization in the world . The experimental telecast started in Delhi in September 1959 with a small transmitter . Doordarshan opened its windows to the world by launching its international channel on 14th GLOBAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY Sunday, July, 18, 2010 March, 1995
Presently, Doordarshan operates 19 cahnnels-2 all India channel,11 regional satellite language channel, four state network (SN), an international and a sport channel. DD-NEWS channel launched in 3rd November,2003,replacing existing DDMETRO entertainment channel, provide 24 hours news to viewers in all variety.
To cater the aims of television - Education , Enrichment & Entertainment. To make available the real live experience of various events/games or sports events to the remote viewers. To create a sense of involvement in various events according to the individuals aptitude.

Mode Of Coverage
Generally various coverages are covered by any one of the following methods Single camera recordings ( for T.V reports ) Multi camera with additional video effects facility and back ground commentary for LIVE coverages.
To plan and install the hardware in an optimized way in case of a switcher OB.
To make available to the producer various technical resources according to the rhythm of the event.
To ensure that uniform broadcast quality is provided to the viewer. To manage hardware movements, lining up of system and handling of emergencies in the field due to rain, riots , heat etc, so as to meet the objectives of the coverage.
Actual Luminance Signal, Y = 0.30R+0.58G+0.11B To visualize the events/games as per the the common viewers perception. To effectively and efficiently use the video stream from cameras and the associated equipments to present the common viewer with each an every detail of the event/games. To select camera shots for display in such a way that the it is realistically followed by viewers. To facilitate the anchor/commentator in explaining the happenings of the event/game by providing the right visuals , graphics and database. To up-date the statistics of the game as it progresses.
The outside broadcast van,which itself is a self contained and fullcomplement studio setup,has the following Equipment with it

Longer continues recording of unmanned camera (13 to 20) Multiple audio channels ( 4 Channels) Pilot tone is recorded just before delivery of the ball. Provides pitch report, toss , city glimpses.

A hard disk based recording system having large storage of 360GB. Provides three slow motions from each server. Separate servers for super slow motion . Provides highlights of the games proceeding through play list. Provides animated graphics on occasion of four, six, catch, half-century Century and duck-outs etc.
Continuous Graphics / text display like scoreboard , corner score different statistics. Supports enormous database concerning with the players record, game history etc.. Scrolling caption for additional information like match delay due to rain. Supering of commentator names etc

Its up-linking chain have a MPEG-2 Encoder, Modulator, Up-converter, HPA, wave guide mechanism and PDA. HPA consists of traveling wave tube Amplifier Satellite offers the unique possibility to transmit images and sound from almost anywhere on the planet. From a fully equipped uplink truck or from a light flyaway travel case, DSNG makes it possible to bring live news and sport to millions of viewers.
