Site Copper Intrusion alarm installation Technical guideline

Description:

This guideline illustrates how to install an intrusion alarm protecting the copper tape installed on a site from potential theft. The copper is often targeted by copper re-sellers and is a major concern for telecom networks as it leaves sensitive equipment unprotected in bad weather conditions and poses a health risk for the personnel.

The copper tape is removed in several places

Items needed:

1. Reel of wrapping cable 30 AWG diameter.

2. 50mm tape white, cloth woven.

Installation :
Procedure:

Wrap the 30AWG wire in a loop around the copper then pass it behind its support as shown.

Drill a hole from outside diameter 4 mm

Then pass the cables through inside.

Install the cap on the copper support and install tape inside the shelter closing the hole.

Install tape outside covering the hole and the cable.

Connect the RJ45 connector cable to the new external alarm No.4.

Patch the external cable to existing DDF and the other side come from the sensors or loops.

Configure the alarm name/ID in BTS according to the coded ID.

Confirm the alarm indication with NMC and notify of its installation.
