AFTERSCHOOL TUTORING PROGRAM & SATURDAY SCHOOL COMING SOON


AfterschoolTutoringProgramThismonth,wewillbegin offeringafterschooltutoringfrom4PM6PMtoscholarsreferred bytheirteacherandprincipal.Afterschooltutoringisfor scholarsinneedofinterventionbeyondtheschooldayinorder toreachproficiencyatalevelof80%. SaturdaySchoolThismonth,wewillbeginofferingSaturday Schooltoscholarsreferredbytheirteacherandprincipal becausetheyareinneedofinterventionbeyondtheregular schooldaytoimprovetheiracademicperformance.Saturday Schoolwillbefrom8AM12NOON.PleaseNote:Breakfastand LunchWILLNOTbeserved. Hardy Brown College Prep is a uniform school. Scholars are expected to follow the dress code at all times. We will begin strictly enforcing the dress code on Monday February 4th. Parents, please make sure your children are dressed appropriately.

HBCP Policy on Promotion Student-Parent Handbook, Page 26 Promotion to the Next Grade
To be promoted to the next grade level, students must be at the Proficientlevel(80%)oraboveinAcademics,andmeetAttendanceand Leadershipgoals. Students will have ample opportunities to reach Proficiency through extendedday learning, individualized tutoring, as well as Intersession andSummerIntersessioncourses. Any student who has an Individualized Education Program (IEP) will be promotedtothenextgradelevelbasedonsuccessfulcompletionofthe goalsintheIEP,andbytherecommendationoftheIEPteam. The Principal and teacher reserve the right to request that a student repeatagradelevelforlackofacademicprogress,organizationand/or maturity.

Letters will go home from classroom teachers this week to scholars at risk of retention or in need of intervention. These letters will require a parent signature. Ms. Fortune will be off campus this week writing the proposal for the renewal of Hardy Brown College Preps charter petition. Ms. Brown is the Administrator on Duty.
