    City Council Reaches Settlement with Tourism Marketing District

    SAN DIEGO, CA (March 14, 2013) Council President Todd Gloria today signed a settlement
    agreement that dismisses the City of San Diego as a defendant in a lawsuit initiated by the
    Tourism Marketing District (TMD). The agreement (attached) was approved by the City Council
    unanimously in closed session on Tuesday, March 12.

    "This agreement demonstrates the City CounciI's beIief in the tremendous benefit and
    value of the Tourism Marketing District. We want the TMD to continue operating," said
    Council President Gloria. "I hope the entire matter is quickIy resoIved so the TMD can go
    back to pubIicizing our destination, and we can focus on other priority matters."

    The agreement stipulates, among other things, that the Mayor is obligated to sign the operating
    agreement with the TMD which will execute the policies adopted by the City Council.
