RECTOR'S WARDEN

Position

Appointed by Rector for two-year term (non-renewable)

Position Requirements In accordance with Canon 5, clause 45(a) the Rector's Warden must be baptized, 18 years of age and a regular communicant. The Rector's Warden must also have been a member of the Parish for a minimum of two consecutive years. It would be helpfiil to have some knowledge and experience in chairing of meetings Responsible to Responsible for Liaison Person(s) Results Statement

Rector, Corporation, Vestry Welfare of Rector Rector, People's Warden The Rector's Warden has the authority, responsibility, and accountability for the duties as set out in this document and as such is to ensure there is a system in place for getting the job done, someone doing the job, finding a replacement when required, reporting to Vestry on each assigned activity and communicating from Vestry to persons doing the activity. The duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Liturgy The Rector's Warden will be responsible for suitable arrangements being made for worship in the absence of the Rector. Christian Education The Rector's Warden will ensure that the following areas are actioned in a timely and proper manner: a) courses for mamage preparation b) baptismal preparation and follow up c) first communion training d) parish Sunday School program e) Journey to Adulthood program f ) Lay ministry program g) Apha program Diocesan and Corporation a) The Rector's Warden is a member of the Corporation of the Parish and will attend and participate in all corporation meetings. The Rector's Warden is a member of Vestry and will attend and b) participate in all Vestry meetings.

Duties

Other Duties as Required The Rector's Warden will carry out all other duties as required such as, in the second year of their term, preparing the Christmas Letter, Annual Report and chairing of the Nominating Committee. Duties on loss of a Rector Should the incumbent die, fall ill or leave the parish for any reason, the Rector's Warden in conjunction with the People's Warden shall ensure that the duties of the Rector are hifilled in accordance with Canon 5 Clause 29.
