Youth Group Coordinator


The primary responsibility of the Youth Group Coordinator is to coordinate activities for the youth. In this place of St. Thomas that includes but is not limited to:

Sunday Christian education hour Weekend social events such as movies / games Weekend retreats Weekend "Real Life" discussions of movies, current issues and teen issues as they arise Weekend "Just Shoot Me". The youth create their own stories and videotape them. This activity fosters teamwork, builds relationships, develops resourcefblness and inspires worship ideas.

The coordinator must keep informed of the Diocesan activities planned for youth and encourage diocesan participation. Synod ottice sends messages of activities to the church through e-mail. The secretary prints the message and puts it in the Youth Coordinator's mail slot. From time to time, the Coordinator will also organize joint youth events with local churches in Shenvood Park and other Anglican churches. Admionistration: The Coordinator is given a budget within which to operate. S/he is accountable to vestry for the use of the money.

Keep a record of youth names and addresses, phone number. age, birthday. Write u p a report for each event to show attendance, giving details of the event The Coordinator works closely with the Sunday School Coordinator and Drama leader
Weekly: I. Plan the Sunday Education hour. There is a curriculum for junior high students which complements the Sunday School lesson tbr the day.

Be aware ofbirthdays and have them printed in the bulletin Ensure the i~pcoming activities and events are printed in the bulletin Youth band. Encourage participation. Be present for the practices and help with organizational details.

Develop relationships with the youth through phone calls and interaction on Sundays and at all

activities.

Plan events / activities for three out of four weekends and / or rnid-week.
