Background

Activator
Through the use of CPS Units or Survey Monkey the teachers will be given a pre-assessment based on the scenarios in Table 6.1 on page 108 of text.

Rationale/Objectives
Teachers will be able to identify when their expression may be protected or limited under the First Amendment. Teachers will be able to apply the First Amendment analysis to real-life scenarios involving teacher speech both inside and outside the classroom. Teachers will gain new knowledge of likely consequences associated with unprotected speech.
