NNS MAKURDI OPERATIONAL STATE 1. NNS MAKURDI is presently not operational.

The last Machinery trial conducted on the 25 th Feb. 11 was unsuccessful due to various problems which the FSG team identified on the abrupt conclusion of the trial.

MAIN ENGINES

2. The starboard and port main engines are not operational. The starboard main engine has problems such as defective vibration dampers, oil leakages from turbo charger oil cooling line, cracked exhaust bellows and blocked heat exchanger. The port main engine experienced overheating during the trial.

GEAR BOX

3. Oil leakages and unusual noise observed from both gear boxes
