Evan Borgman Responsibilities A teacher has a diverse list of responsibilities.

They are not only responsible for the education of their students, but also a wide variety of emotional and mental aspects of their growth. As a teacher I will be put in a very important role in the lives of these students. I view my position as that of both an educator and a role model. Students will spend about as much time with a teacher as they will with their parents during their childhood, so I see the teacher as responsible for their emotional well being. I need to make sure that every student that goes through my class is in a state of emotional stability and should give as much effort as I can to give them a comforting classroom environment. I am also responsible for exposing the student to things outside of what they might see as the norm. I need to provide them with opportunities to interact with diverse cultures and settings, give them activities that help them explore strange new world views. While I hold an influential emotional position for the students, I can't forget the primary reason they attend school: education. While a teacher is a role model, they also have to fill their own role: that of an educator. It is my first priority to present the subjects I am tasked to the students in a way they can understand and better them selves with. In the end of the day my job means little if the students don't actually learn anything.
