May 3, 2013 Dear David Turnham Families, Another wonderful week has come and gone at David Turnham! We now have ISTEP behind us and only 15 school days ahead! Congratulations to our Academic Bowl team who brought home many awards from last Saturdays competition. ISTEP+ testing ended today. Our students were very focused and confident in their efforts. Thank you for sending them to school rested and ready! Teacher Appreciation Week is next week. Please help us send a special thank you to our dedicated teachers, assistants, office, kitchen, bus drivers, maintenance, and custodial staff. We are so fortunate to be surrounded by adults in our school who truly care about kids! PTEO is hoping a few more families will send in goodies for our staff next week. Any item would be appreciated whether store purchased or homemade.

Extracurricular News We have forms in the office for a swimming and diving camp to be held at Heritage Hills for students in grades 4-9. This would be next years grade level. Let us know if you need a form. We have information in the office about swim lessons to be offered at Heritage Hills this summer for any age of student. Let us know if you need a form. We have information in the office about a Bombers Baseball Youth Skills Camp for elementary students with locations in Huntingburg, Jasper and Ferdinand. This is a 3 day camp in June. PTEO News Please join us for our last PTEO meeting of the year on Tuesday, May 6 at 7:00 with the board meeting at 6:00. We will wrap up the year and make decisions about our remaining budget. Mrs. Kemp will also be highlighting and sharing new technology we hope to obtain. Our final Walk A Thon total was $7,369! WOW! An amazing accomplishment! Next Week Fine Arts Night will be held next Thursday. Please join us as we celebrate the artistic, creative side or our kids! There will be art work and music for all to enjoy! This is sure to be a fun night! Call if you need details! It isnt too early to begin thinking about plans for the summer and the role reading needs to play in it!
