Institute for Environmental Solutions Marketing Subcommittee Internship Description The Institute for Environmental Solutions (IES) is an independent nonprofit organization that engages stakeholders to deliver technically sound solutions to complex environmental and health problems without unwanted side effects. We pride ourselves on being thought-leaders in the air/water/energy/carbon spaces. The technical rigor that informs our research often challenges the status quo, and we strive to be ahead of the curve with regards to environmental issues. IES is currently seeking a Social Media Intern to assist with creating and executing a social media strategy for IES. This position is part-time and unpaid. You: Passionate about environmental issues. Excellent communicator/story-teller. Obsessed with creating compelling content. Experienced in generating social media engagement. Able to work independently. Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or Environmental Studies majors a plus. Responsibilities: Help to establish the digital voice for IES. Create engaging content for the website and IES social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Work to build digital relationships with partner/similar organizations. Attend IES Marketing Subcommittee meetings prepared to discuss status. Experience: Gain valuable hands-on experience with social media and web marketing. Develop innovative marketing and communications strategies for a nonprofit organization. Work closely with the organization's Marketing Subcommittee and Board of Directors. Minimum Qualifications: Must be enrolled in senior year of undergraduate degree or graduate degree program. Must possess impeccable writing skills. Must be knowledgeable about social media trends and best practices. Details: This is an unpaid part-time internship (15-20 hours/week) with a flexible schedule. Interns work independently at home and participate in scheduled events in the Denver area. Interns will be encouraged to apply IES work to academic courses, as appropriate and desired, with support from IES professional staff members and Board members.
