Industrial Training Report Submission Guidelines

Submission of Report to the Department: The students will submit their project report in the prescribed format. The following material must be submitted: Two Hard bound Copy of the Project Report for submission. (one for University, one for College) Color of the outer cover must be BLACK Students should prepare one more hard copy for their own. Soft copy of report including the code on CD in a thick envelope pasted inside of the back cover of the project report. The Project Report may be about 70-100 pages. Report Format: The write up must adhere to the guidelines and should include the following. Title Page Company Certificate Declaration by candidates Acknowledgement Table of contents List of tables List of figures Acronyms Abstract Organization Profile Chapter 1: Introduction Chapter 2: Objective and scope of the Project Chapter 3: Requirement analysis Chapter 4: Methodology Chapter 5: Hardware & Software used Chapter 6: Project Design Bibliography Appendix Page number should start from abstract to chapter no 7 from 1 onwards The following suggested guidelines must be followed in preparing the Final Report: Good quality white paper A4 size should be used for typing and duplication. Care should be taken to avoid smudging while duplicating the copies. Page Specification: (Written paper and source code) Left margin - 3.0 cms Right margin- 2.0 cms Top margin 2.54 cms Bottom margin 2.54 cms Page numbers - All text pages as well as Program source code listing should be numbered at the bottom center of the pages. Normal Body Text: Font Size: 12, Times New Roman, Double Spacing, Justified. Paragraph Heading Font Size: 14, Times New Roman, Underlined, Left Aligned.

Chapter Heading Font Size: 20, Times New Roman, Left Aligned, 30 point ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: In the Acknowledgement page, the writer recognizes his indebtedness for guidance and assistance of the different persons and members of the faculty. Courtesy demands that he also recognize specific contributions by other persons or institutions such as libraries and research foundations. Acknowledgements should be expressed simply, tastefully, and tactfully. ABSTRACT: Brief explanation what you have done in the project Donts - Should not contain any implementation details, and in-depth technical details - Should not contain the details like demerits/disadvantages, limitations - Should not contain the details of the hardware/software used - Size should not exceed 150 words or 10 lines LIST OF TABLES: - List of all tables with page no LIST OF FIGURES: - List of all figures with page no - All figures should be labeled - All figures should be referred in text. i.e. explanation for each figure should be given ACRONYMS: - List all the acronyms that you have used inside your report. If the acronym is relatively new add it here and also explain it in the glossary. The list should be alphabetically sorted. FMEA Failure Mode Effect Analysis PHA Preliminary Hazard Analysis INTRODUCTION: This includes the basic terms and definitions. The subheadings may be appropriate places for covering the topic under consideration. Suitable examples may be given for better understanding. The figures and tables may be included for proper representation of the topic OBJECTIVE AND SCOPE: This should give a clear picture of the project. Objective should be clearly specified. What way the project is going to contribute in the technical field has to be mentioned. REQUIREMENT ANALYSIS:1. use questionnaires interview, group discussion etc

METHODOLOGY:

(Flow chart /ER-diagram or Algorithm implemented) The write -up must include the Methodology for the project work. It end with the concluding remarks-briefly describing innovation in the approach for implementing the Project, main achievements and also any other important feature that makes the system stand out from the rest. HARDWARE & SOFTWARE used: The requirement of the resources for designing and developing the proposed system must be given. The resources might be in form of the hardware/software or the data from the industry. The limitation of the proposed system in respect of a larger and comprehensive system must be given. 2. Project Design :a) Design Overview - explain the software methodology used to design - provide your project description wherever, if necessary b) Design Approach - explain about two possible design and organization of modules - explain each design with neat sketch c) Design Selection - Choose the best among the two designs from design approach and justify the selection. i.e. explain which design you are going to implement d) Design Description Describe your design process using - Class diagram - Sequence diagram -Data flow diagram -State diagram - Activity diagram

No report will be accepted if not submitted in the specified format. Hence all students on training are advised to strictly follow the specified format given above.
