Hot Beverages
Tea:- It is discovered over 5000 years ago. 1700s onward it began to be consumed as the delicious beverage. Tea is prepared from the leaf bud and top leaves of a tropical evergreen bush called Camellia Sinensis. The Main Tea producing Country: China :- Keemun, Lapsang, Souchong, Oolong and Green Tea. East Africa (Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania and Zimbabwe) India:- Assam (Strong and full bodied), Darjeeling (Delicate and Mellow Indonesia :- light and Flavoured Sri Lanka:-light flavoured
Special Tea
Assam:- Rich full and malty flavoured tea. Darjeeling:- Delicate with a light grape flavour and known as the champagne of Teas. Earl Grey:- Blend of Darjeeling and china, flavoured with oil of Bergamot. Jasmine:- A green tea is dried with jasmine Blossom Lapsang Souchong:- A smoky, pungent and perfumed tea. Sri Lanka:- pale golden colour with good flavour. Tisanes;- It is Herbs and Fruit based tea.
Coffee
It was cultivated about 1000 years ago in the Yemen. 1600s coffee drinking had spread to Egypt, Syria and Turkey.
Coffee tree are the genus coffea which belongs to the rubiaceae family. Only two of coffee species commercially significant these are known Coffea Arabica and Coffea Camephora (Robusta).
Fruit of Coffee Tree is Known as Cherry in Manufacturing term.
