Helen Gayle Hill Tyrell, 65, of Chapel Hill, died Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, at he r home in Chapel Hill.

Mrs. Tyrell was born in Davidson County and was a daughter of the late Charles F razier "Charlie" and Dorothy Jane Nave Hill. She was a homemaker and was a retir ed investigator for the United States Federal Government, Department of Labor. M rs. Tyrell was a member of the Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Morgan "Muggs" Tyrell; sister, Linda C ollins; and brother, Charles D. "Butch" Hill. Mrs. Tyrell is survived by six sisters, Betty (Bill) Blalock of Lewisburg, Ann ( Doug) Winningham of Chapel Hill, Dottie (Steve) Eskew of Franklin, Deborah (Harv ey) Jones of the Caney Spring Community, Donna (Mike) Zimmerle of Chapel Hill, a nd Kathy (Joe) Orr of Tullahoma; two brothers, Thomas F. Hill of Culleoka and Jo e (Diana) Hill of Chapel Hill; two stepchildren, Ann and Boyd Tyrell of Nashvill e; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and by her beloved c at, "Tinkerbell." Graveside services were conducted Tuesday, Aug. 31, at Swanson Cemetery in Chape l Hill with Rev. Larry Chatman officiating, followed by burial in Swanson Cemete ry. Lawrence Funeral Home and Cremation Services was in charge of arrangements.
