Setting the standards in stadiums ahead of FIFA 2022 Khayyat Contracting and Development herald the completion of Lekhwiya

Stadium as the new standard for sporting venues. Qatari based main contractor Khayyat Contracting and Development (KCD), believes it has set the standard for stadium building, following the delivery and opening of the Lekhwiya Stadium just outside of the Qatari capital of Doha, according to a statement from the company. Established in 2011, operating as a sister company to Khayyat Contracting and Trading, KCD successfully won the tender to deliver the football stadium of premier league team Lekhwiya. KCT CEO, Mohammed Moutaz Khayyat said, While we were aware that our team had to work as quickly as possible in order to deliver the project on time, it was also important that the highest standards of both material and finishing were observed. Company founder, Mohammed Raslan Al Khayyat said; Having delivered the design and build in 390 days, we are very pleased with the results and hope that the Lekhwiya team enjoy great success at their new ground. Unlike many football stadiums around the world, the Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium has a number of extra features, making it a little more luxurious than your average sporting arena. Equipped with marble fountains, through to a suspended roof coated in PVDF to prevent dust and sand settling on it, the stadium also has both VIP and VVIP sections, each designed by Canadian architects B+H. With over $200 billion worth of estimated projects being currently developed in Qatar, many companies will be keeping their ears to the ground for the tendering process of the World Cup stadiums, with an aim to being a part of the first Middle East FIFA World Cup in 2022. Qatar, which once completed will be one of the largest indoor shopping centres in the world.
