Fire Drill

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. I am here today to give you some information about safety in the workplace. First of all Ill talk about fire safety. In our office we have fire alarms and smoke detectors which you can see in the ceiling. When there is a fire a message is sent to the control panel in the main office downstairs. An alarm goes off and the person in charge calls the fire station. In addition, we have fire exits which are clearly marked as well as fire extinguishers. There is also a fire hose on every floor near the exit. Some staff members are fire wardens. We have three on every floor of the building. In an emergency, these wardens will tell you what to do. There will be regular fire drills held every 3 months. Every room has an evacuation plan, so please check your plan to find the nearest exit. In case of a fire, please do not use the lifts as they are very dangerous . Also, keep away from windows to avoid breaking glass. After an evacuation, you will be told when to re-enter the building.
