    Use of Mathematical Language

    Unacceptable (0 points) Posts are below average quality. More than five grammatical errors in the posts. No Mathematical language used in the posts or errors in the use of terminology. Problem solving strategy chosen is inappropriate for the problem and yields and incorrect solution. Explanation is not valid based on incorrect result.

    Problem Solving Strategy and Explanation

    Communication

    Few to no posts. No communication with others.

    Acceptable (1 Point) Posts are average quality. 1-4 grammatical errors in the posts. Mathematical language is used some in the posts. Terminology is used correctly. Problem solving strategy chosen is appropriate for the problem and yields a correct process. However, the solution is incorrect. Explanation provided lacks some details or is difficult to follow. At least five posts. Some communications with others. However, communication does not encourage dialogue.

    Target (2 Points) Posts are above average quality. No grammatical errors in the posts. Mathematical language is used throughout and appropriately. Problem solving strategy chosen is appropriate and yields the correct process and solution. Explanation is detailed and easy to follow.

    At least ten posts. Regular communication with others. The communication encourages dialogue. Replies to comments on their own posts.
