Lehliu Gar is composed of three districts as follows: Lehliu Gar, Rzvani, and Buzoieni. The total number of inhabitants is estimated to be nowadays almost 7000. Lehliu Gar City Hall

Lehliu Gar is situated in the south part of Romania, in the Bragan plain. It is surrounded by lakes where one can fish, forests where one can hunt.

Education is highly valued in our town. There are kindergardens, primary, lower Lehliu Gar Train Station The city was founded around 1875 with the construction of the railway Bucharest Feteti. It was developed at the intersection with the road linking Bucharest to Clrai, port on the Danube. Slowly, slowly emerged first grain merchants most of them ethnic Greeks. Settlement is developed, there are merchants and industrial goods and foodstuffs. The settlement continued to grow and on 28th April 1989 Lehliu Gar was declared city. socondary schools and a high school. In Lehliu Gar is the high school called Alexandru Obobescu High School. Its name is given after an author, archaeologist and politician who discribed those places in his literary work. The High Scool serves about 1500 student. The are many dedicated teachers in the high school who work extra with their students and so they have gathered many prises at the local and national contests. They also guide the young people for the international projects held through "Youth in Action" programme. Lehliu has an active cultural life. There is a Cultural Centre which also houses the local library with more than 14 000 volumes. The building also hosts voluntary activities like theatre, origami and Spanish courses, not to mention the dance ones.
