Effect(s) 1. Three people were killed and 24 others injured. 2. Three passengers were thrown out of the bus and died on the spot. 3. The bus rams into a road divider.

This accident was happened at 1.50 a.m. on First of May 2012. Three people were killed and 24 others injured when a bus crashed into a road divider at the Sungai Chartered bus accident Buaya interchange being constructed at Km 434 of the North-South Expressway, near the Bukit Beruntong toll plaza. The bus was travelling with 48 passengers aboard from Chenderiang, Perak to Malacca.

Effect(s) 1. It crashed into the gates of several houses and a car in Taman Seremban. 2. Nurila Ahmads front porch was crushed by that crane. 3. Her car was safe in the accident. 4. She was shocked.

SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO REDUCE THE ROAD ACCIDENT AT THE ACCIDENT PRONE AREAS IN SERDANG AREA

I, as stated above would like to share my opinion about the accident-prone areas in my hometown. The newest accident happened 2 days ago involving a motorcyclist and a car. In this accident, the motorcyclist had a collision with a car from the opposite direction. The victim was heading to Serdang from Bandar Baharu after went back from his work. The motorcyclist died on the spot when he was thrown away about three meters from the accident area while the car driver was unhurt. Before this accident happened, there is also another accident between two cars at the same area just a week before. That incident was due to the careless driving.

The are some reasons why all of these accidents happen at the same place. First

of foremost, the place where this accident happened were quit dark especially during the

night because there are no street lights at all. Besides that, the conditions of the road were not even and little bit high at certain places. This situation could make the road user had difficulty to see any vehicle came from in front of them. Human factor also one of the factor that contributes to the accident at that prone areas. The negligent driving by the drivers, drive too fast, overtake at the double line areas and drive their vehicle while using the hand phone were the reasons why that place become of a the accident prone areas.

As a resident at the area, I would like to share and give some suggestions in

helping the authorities to prevent such incidents from happened again in the future. The authorities should install some street lights at the reasonable distance along those places. The installation of the street lights could help the road user whether for motorcyclist or other drivers to have a clear vision for other vehicle that came from in front of them. The authorities especially whose responsible directly for the road safety could build humps to reduce the speed of the vehicle at the high areas. By building the humps, the driver have to slow down their vehicle and it could lower down the risk of accident or injury even there is an accident happen.

Besides the authorities, police department also should play their vital role more

effectively in helping to prevent this incident. The police officer could conduct patrols at the area more often because by knowing that area were had patrolling by the police, the road user will not dare to speed their vehicle or breaking other road regulation like using hand phone while driving and doing overtake at double line areas. They also have to strengthen the regulation and punishment. The effective regulations and punishments could make the road user to drive carefully to avoid them from being fined by the police department due to their action.

The other action that can be taken to prevent this kind of incident from repeating by

arousing the consciousness and awareness among the road user themselves as the actions speak louder than words. The authorities like yours could be cooperating with police department in conducting awareness campaigns and road safety to the public especially to the young generations. The authorities could organize the talk or seminar

about safety driving especially to the school students because most of them are using the motorcycle. Nowadays, most of the secondary students are using motorcycle as their transport to the school and some of them are involving in unmoral activities like illegal races. Not all of the program done by the authorities will bring needed impact if the road user did not change their attitude towards their driving style. All of the related parties such as road user, authorities and police department have to jump on the bandwagon to ensure the accident number could be reduce.

As one of the Malaysian, I really hope that, all the drivers could be a good and polite drivers and the number of accidents could decrease. Lastly, I hope you would gain some ideas from my suggestions for the safety of the road user especially at the accident-prone areas.

Reflection

In order to complete the task as required for this coursework, first, I have to understand the requirements of the question as given by referring it to my colleague at my school. After that, I started drafting the working plan by preparing the timetable to ensure that I will able to complete this assignment on time. The process started with the gathering materials needed for completing the assignments. I also make some research by surfing the internet especially to answer task 1 question, which is about parts of speech and for the reading part as well. Besides surfing the internet as my main resources, I also seek for advice from my friends at the school. They had helped me a lot especially in giving their opinions and view to fulfill the requirement for this assignment. Other than that, I also make friend with the English dictionary and reference books as an extra references.

As this subject little bit new for me and I also had less exposure about it, I had faced some problems in completing this coursework. As I did mention earlier, when I had facing difficulties in completing my tasks, I will refer to my schoolmates to get better understanding and solutions to fulfill the requirement of the assignment. Besides that, I also refer to my friends whose studies together with me and make some research on internet or refer to the dictionary when it come to the term or meaning of the words.

By doing this assignments, I gain a lot of new knowledge and skills of this language. Through my research about parts of speech, I had better understanding about its meaning and when we could use its whether in our daily conversation or writing process. In addition, I get familiar with the format of writing formal letter and writing for specific purposes. In this case, it is about sharing our opinion or suggestion to the authorities regarding some issues that happen around us. Last but not least, I learn to use internet as one of the important reference in searching for the suitable material in completing the task given. I do hope by doing this assignment, it could improve my proficiency to use English in my conversation.
