The deer population is out of control. What should be done?

The town of Kingsford needs help!

ANIMAL POPULATIONS
A Study of Physical, Conceptual, and Mathematical Models. Twenty years ago, Kingsford was a sleepy coastal town. The age-old traditions of country living gave a rich glow to its existence. Now Kingsford is suering unparalleled growth and change. New housing developments are springing up like toadstools after a rain. Suburban sprawl has obliterated elds and forests, forcing wildlife into close proximity to people. The new suburbanites have come to enjoy Kingsfords relaxed charm, but they are tired of losing expensive landscapes to foraging deer and fear the epidemic of lyme disease.

They have also brought attitudes with them that make Kingsford a divided community. The conict between old-timers who remember their rst hunting expedition at age 12 and newcomers uncomfortable with hunting has polarized the community. How can the mayor please both the townspeople and wildlife biologists? What can be done?
