U14 Boys

Our under 14 boys have made it through to the next round of the Kent cup after scraping through against Maidstone Grammar. The first half was a very even affair with neither side giving much away, however the boys took the lead through a Jordan Zemura penalty that was cooly slotted down the middle after Jordan himself was tripped in the penalty area. It stayed this way until half time. After the restart each side pressed for the important second goal and it was our IOSA boys that have themselves a two goal cushion with David Wilson netting from close range. However, just after establishing the two goal cushion and error from one of our boys, gave Maidstone a wonderful chance that they duly took, 2-1. The boys rallied well and displayed some fine one touch passing which lead to Jordan Zemura getting his second and the IOSA's third with a cool finish from the edge of the box, 3-1. Another mistake from our boys lead to another Maidstone goal with 15 minutes to play, 3-2. A calamity between the Maidstone goal keeper and full back gifted Oliver Cooksey the opportunity to score an open goal from short range, 4-2. Maidstone then threw the kitchen sink at our boys and with 2 minutes to go they broke through and scored, 4-3. But the boys held their nerve and ensured their progress to the next round of the cup.

U16 Girls
The IOSA girls dominated precedings on Wednesday night with a 12-0 win over rivals Brompton Academy. The IOSA girls showed true skill and team spirit as well as excellent sportsmanship. IOSA started the game the game quickest with an early goal and never looked back, penning the Brompton team in their half. This enabled IOSA to finish the half with score of 6-0. The second half started in the same way as the first with another quick goal and with the linchpin of the team Hollie Musmeci (C) controlling the game, the IOSA girls sailed through the second half finishing the game at 12-0. Special praise must go to the girls for their sportsmanship towards the other team which was dually noted by the referee and opposing team manager who both praised our girls for the way in which they conducted themselves. *Special thank you Mr Peters and Mr Huggins as team managers and Ms Groom for driving the girls to the fixture.
