    RIVERSIDE BROOKFIELD HIGH SCHOOL TEACHERS PRESENTING AT FOREIGN LANGUAGES CONVENTION

    Four RB teachers will present at the Illinois Council on Teaching of Foreign Languages Convention on October 18, 2013, at the Tinley Park Convention Center. It is quite an honor to have our staff members chosen to share their strategies and skills at the conference. Jessica Mauritzen and Laurence Forberg are presenting on AP Activities Scaffolded Across Languages and Levels. The description of the session is, Are you interested in aligning your activities across levels and languages at your school in order to maximize your students abilities and chances of success at the AP level? We will provide information about the AP exam and provide sample activities and strategies for your classroom. Jenna Osburn and Deidre Sullivan will be presenting a session called, Essential Skills for Novice World Language Instructors. Their session is described in this way, Are you new to teaching and interested in learning effective instructional strategies for the world language classroom? Come to this session to learn effective instructional strategies that will help you survive and thrive during the beginning years of your teaching career! We will touch on pairing students, classroom management, monitoring student progress, and engaging students in interactive, fun activities.
