Since this Major (Information Technology Support Specialist) entails maintaining a companies Computer Systems or providing customer support, all businesses that offer products or services need Support Specialists. Using the Websites BLS.gov and Careers.o rg, Ive discovered that the majority of the Information Technology Support Specialist jobs were not in any of the job industries proposed in this question. Only 7% of jobs in this field were in the financial industry, 13% were in the Education industry, and 0% was recorded in the automotive industry. Most of the occupations obtained by this Major are in companies that offer a variety of services and are both large and small. Most work in an office environment and work with a team of IT specialists, unless you provide technical support over the phone, then you work in call center environments. Most Tech jobs have good job outlooks, as progression is said to be fairly quick. Those who enter a job field with an Associates Degree can hold the same position as one who acquired a Bachelors degree after working for a company for a few years. The amount of positions available is expected to increase by 18%. The salary for ITSS positions recently has been about $46,260/ year.

For myself, it would be either taking support calls/emails or working in an IT group to support the company computer network. HPQs competitors include DELL, ACN, and IBM. HPQ has a 100% matching 401K program and offer Full health benefits. Fortune.com informs that the HQ for International Business Machines Corp (IBM) is in Armonk, New York. IBM made total revenue of 104.5 B last year with a slight drop in stock %. In 2012, IBM had 434,000+ employees, No specific figures were given for 2013. Recent job openings for IBM were for customer support, this mean working condition would be either in a call center or answering emails with a support team in an office environment. IBMs top competitors are Apple, HPQ, WIT, and CERN. Benefits at IBM can be changed how the employee sees fit once a year and can cover Vision, Dental, and Various Health for the employee and their family.
