MON 11th Martin, bishop, c. 397 Please pray for increasing awareness of the importance of preventing HIV and AIDS in Malawi. HIV prevalence there has dropped from 11.4% in 2008 to 10.6% this year, but young women are still bearing a bigger burden than their male counterparts. Girls are nearly twice as likely to become infected in Malawi as boys. TUES 12th From Revd Canon Stewart Jones, of St Martins in the Bullring: Please pray for our new vision and strategy document that will be launched on October 13th. This will give the whole community a clear focus and direction for the next three years. Especially pray for our new Community Lay Minister seeking to offer support to the vulnerable and broken. WED 13th Charles Simeon, priest, evangelical divine, 1836 Please pray for the Solihull Deanery Clergy Breakfast that takes place in the city centre today. THURS 14th Samuel Seabury, bishop, 1796 Pray today for the Bishops Study Day today in Birmingham Cathedral with Canon Dr Paula Gooder. FRI 15th Revd Richard Burley, of St Marys, Wythall, asks: Please give thanks with St Marys Wythall for Gods provision of a new church building after 27 years on the road, due to open at Easter. Pray for floods of visitors from our community in the first few months, and that all who enter through our doors would experience a warm welcome and a sense of Gods presence. SAT 16th Margaret, queen, philanthropist, 1093 Pray for the wounded service men and women in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, for their recovery and their families and friends.
