PURPOSE

1. Facilitate & normalise our childrens learning journeys through family, community & shared values 2. Share resources including time, knowledge, physical resources, external expertise & the skills of the group 3. Create & maintain an intention community where children & adults are supported & nurtured by community members who are committed to their well-being

MEMBERSHIP

Criteria Members need to be willing to participate actively in the group Members need to agree to follow the Code of Conduct & group Policies. Members need to share the common values of the group Members of the group need to live within reasonable geographic location Members of the group need to have children who are in a reasonable age range for the group Policy 1. When someone has a suggestion for a new family, they will present the suggestion to the group 2. Members agree not to issue invitations before a decision has been reached by the group at a meeting 3. After a new member is suggested, where possible, an opportunity to interact with the new family in an informal/social setting will be created 4. Membership decisions are to be made at a meeting of all members & new members only accepted after a full consensus is reached

CONFLICT RESOLUTION

Conflicts between members:1. Talk to the person directly 2. If this is a problem, use a neutral mediator to help the conversation 3. If a problem still cannot be resolved, it is taken to a meeting. Problems affecting the whole group that are not urgent, are placed on the agenda for the next meeting along with a proposal for solution to be discussed. URGENT problems are defined as:______________________________________________ Urgent problems can be dealt with at a special meeting which can be called by any group member if they feel the problem meets the definition of urgent.
