Other considerations (modifications, accommodations, acceleration, etc.): Students who are having trouble with coming up with his/her own idea will get assistance from me More advanced students can do a series of pieces Connections (prior learning/prior knowledge): Students are familiar with recycled art from previous art classes and the Santa Fe recycled art show.

Resources/Materials Teacher: Images of the works from recycled artists, various recycled items Students: Recycled items, hot glue guns

Assessment (How will you monitor progress and know students have successfully met outcomes?) Daily: Daily observations of students experimenting with artistic ideas. This Week: Completion of piece Unit: Final piece and participation in critique

Time allotted THURSDAY 10/24 Learning Target- TSW learn about how artists have used recycled materials in art making, and will start generating ideas for his/her project. TSW know this when he/she has identified recycled material to use and has created a sketch.

HOMEWORKBring in recycled materials! FRIDAY 10/25 Learning Target- TSW learn how to put together a recycled piece of art. TSW know this when his/her piece is glued/bound together using either glue, wire or rope. TUESDAY 10/29TSW learn how to carefully construct a recycled piece of art. TSW know this when each part is attached carefully before moving on. WEDNESDAY 10/30 Learning Target- TSW learn how to be sure a recycled piece of art is unified. TSW know this when his/her piece has differing elements that come together as one. THURSDAY 10/31 Learning Target- TSW learn how to make sure a recycled piece of art is balanced in form and color. TSW know this when the piece can be rotated on each side and appears to be balanced. FRIDAY 11/1 Learning TargetTSW learn how to add a focal point to his/her piece of recycled art. TSW know this when his/her piece creates a place to focus either through color, form or visual contrast. MONDAY 11/4 TargetTSW learn how to refine his/her recycled piece. TSW know this when the piece is neatly and carefully done, sharp edges are removed, etc. TUESDAY 11/5 TargetTSW learn how to participate effectively in a critique. He/she will know this when he/she makes several strong constructive comments. Demonstrate how to make a recycled piece of art using glue, wire, and other materials. Work on pieces.
